Hubby's probably kin to them...His folks came from N Carolina, I believe it was, on a wagon train back in the olden days, and settled over there...HIS closest Travis relative settled near Clarksville, but later on sold his plantation and moved over around Rosewood, where Merle Travis was born... Interesting tidbit about Merle .,...Hubby's Daddy was swapping work...in tobacco, I think, with Merles daddy on the Day he was born..All the menfolks went in to admire the baby boy , so Mr Travis was one of the first people to see this man that later became famous around the world......Betcha didn't know that, now did you ?
