Emma...I have toured the cheese making place at Tillamook, OR....I actualy packed bags of curds to bring home on the plane! Thats what I drool over when I think of it. The fresh cut cheeses will cause your taste buds to pop up and sing, Boy oh Boy...what a trip that was. I was in Oregon exact time you drove through here going to Georgia...you were within two miles of my house, on I-59 and I was visiting in Lincoln City. Best trip of my life! I was tempted to buy a house that I saw for sale there...but thought of that long plane trip...from one coast to another...and all my kids and grandkids in Alabama.I knew I couldn't pay the phone bill every month and not to see them, often, changed my mind. But I sure loved every thing I saw in OR. We picked the big lucious berries from near her house, and made Jelly while we were there. I made a large "Southern"cobbler, the first for her German Chef husband! She said she made biscuits every day to eat with that wonderful red jelly.! So I cried half the trip back. . P.S. Sam's still has the two pound Kraft Chedder, gone from 5. 44 to 5.99, I think.
I have a friend in southern California who wants to move up to Oregon too. She says the air smells different when she crosses into Oregon. I think some of you should move up here and enjoy the air that we enjoy. <g> Emma ----- Original Message ----- From: Stella Roper<mailto:busmar1852@webtv.net> To: southern-chat@rootsweb.com<mailto:southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 06, 2008 4:35 PM Subject: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Tillamook Emma...I have toured the cheese making place at Tillamook, OR....I actualy packed bags of curds to bring home on the plane!
