Buzz has come and gone since I brought y'all up to date, and he insists I write about our latest ADVENTURE DAY......Wants it to go 'ALL AROUND THE WORLD!' He's proud of being called Buzzard Bait, and enjoys his fame.... Since he has a "Summer haircut " He knew he wasn't going to get to go to the Haircut Place, so he began lobbying for Adventure Day as soon as he got here......Oddly enough, I hadn't planned a doggone thing, and had to improvise....Loaded up the 17 year old and the 4 year old and headed out...Just HAD to go to the bank so I took them in and it was empty so I introduced them around...While I was banking John got Buzz and himself nifty green suckers, and I told him to put Buzz in the tiny room/closet where you can take your safe deposit box...and shut the door....Talk about COOL! He loved it.....When we'd wore that out we left and John picked Buzz up and swung him up in his arms...almost sending the pole and rope deal in the waiting line into orbit when his feet hit it....Everyone laughed, including Buzz and the tellers, so THAT was a good start to Adventure Day..... Next 'have to 'stop was to get my blood thinner test done...COOL! As long as John held Buzz he could stay in the room, so Granny laughed and joked through the one vial blood test and a disappointed Buzz got only special Band-Aid instead of the big flashy stickers I usually pick up for him.....Next door to the hospital, I decided to take them to see the Koi in a beautiful park for hospital visitors...Uh oh ! All the many huge Koi have apparently been moved to the new hospital area , and nothing left to do but run around over the bridges and paths while Granny sat in the super cool breezes in the large Pavilion....Helicopters still parked there, so that was cool.....{ Getting the idea yet that Buzz is easily amused ?} Hunger struck, so we went down the street to our favorite family restaurant and had breakfast....Buzz had a hot dog and French fries, but hey, that's what he wanted....John joined me in a big country breakfast and we ate way too much....Even the 17 year old couldn't finish all of his food, and my leftovers, so that's saying something ! Luckily I spotted a yard sale on the way so we went back to that...No toys they were interested in, so I asked permission for John to take Buzz to play on a giant swing set while I shopped.....It was termed a success by all concerned..... Since they didn't find any treasures I took them to the Salvation Army Thrift store....Only to find a sign in the window that they weren't having kids toys anymore because of all the recalls, lead paint, etc...BUMMER ! We went in anyway and I was happy enough after I found out clothes were a dollar and all knick knacks were half off....Needless to say I didn't take time to look for summer clothes....but DID grab a few things up front.. Back to the game ! More food ? We stopped at a Burger Queen and got free French fries using a newspaper coupon, and ordered one of those waffle cone type bowls dipped in chocolate...crammed full of ice cream, big juicy strawberries and slathers of chocolate....Yummy ! I just got one...not wanting to sugar up old Buzz, and asked for 3 spoons....and glasses of water... {Heck , the ice cream dealie was nearly $4.00 !} Actually, I think it was much more special, sharing....Buzz has not let me forget that he would like to go to the playground, you will understand......He REALLY wants to go to the huge caste/helicopter/etc.. playground down by the River....Buzz's mouth is stuck in perpetual motion mode, but he controlled it pretty well till I turned in the drive to the 'castle' But...but....I turned left , into the lagoon parking area....And dug out the bags of stale bread I had sneaked into the car at home...He didn't complain again, just began trying to get geese and ducks interested in the bread....I guess they feed them real food, because they certainly look healthy and have a GOOD elimination system....gotta watch where you walk...Took some pictures....Looked for pretty feathers while the boys went 'duck hunting,', but only found one.... Storm coming in, so poor Buzz didn't get to play too long...apparently long enough, though, judging by big brothers mumbling as he herded Buzz back to where I parked in the shade......One more stop...at the Quick Mart to get milk rather than drive to a Supermarket....Gave John a 5 and told him that would be a big plenty...came back out and said he needed 65 cents more! Aaarrgghhh! Yes, he got the cheap brand..... When we got home I was looking over my treasures, and opened the little Lane cedar chest { 75 cents } to show Buzz my pretty feather placed inside for safe keeping....I told him .....This is an angel feather...When the tornado blew down the big wooden pavilion and tore all these trees down an Angel flew down from Heaven to protect the ducks and geese...She spread out her beautiful wings and told the ducks and geese they would be safe if they got beneath her wings.....When the tornado went away all the ducks were safe but one feather was gone from the angels big wings....Buzz listened carefully, but then said calmly ," It fell off a duck . " I was amazed ! I'm telling you I really got into that story, spreading my 'wings' out, hovering over the ducks , everything ! Then he walked away...I couldn't let him get away with not believing his Granny , so I asked him,' How do you explain how that huge building and all those trees blew away but all the ducks are still there ?' Hmnnnn.?...I got him! *grin* The angel feather is now given the honor it deserves....The end....Jeannie the Granny ____________________________________________________________ / ____________________________________________________________ Disease Information Online - Click here! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/Ioyw6i3oHoSCXYphkk40UXuKTlyseKeKqwPcupGk3WZHJVwHzCRRpA/
