In the early hours of this morning almost all the cars on the ridge were ransacked.....and one stolen...The paper carrier met the car going out our little T street ..fast...when he came through at 4;30.....The thieves didn't know or care that the car belonged to a widow woman who nursed her husband for years after he had a bad stroke.,..and he wasn't kind to her..Recently her daughter moved in with her..bed ridden....and this poor woman may be getting the dread Alzheimers.....How the Devil must have laughed ! A close neighbor called and asked if we were missing anything from our cars...Seemed surprised when I told him we keep our vehicles locked at all times and have locking gas caps...HAH ! oh me oh my.....locked and loaded is good... me too. I carry a spring loaded pocket knife at all times.... and I do mean at all times. You're right about the good old days ..... just a memory. Sometimes I feel like we all need to march on Washington with pitchforks in hand.....writing / calling / emailing just isn't getting us anywhere.
