Hey y'all, anybody got a good recipe for red eye gravy ? I have heard lot of folks ideas but none taste like what I remember from way back then. A few years ago my wife tried to make some but it too didn't taste like what I remember, she used coffee in the fried ham leavings in the skillet but it still wasn't the same. I know there were a lot of different folks making it, just got to find the right one. I am sure it had something to do with the ham and how fat it was also, nobody cures hams around here much anymore that I know of, best I had recently was a few years ago at the restaurant at Ozark Folk Center at Mountain View here in Arkansas.
