Jeannie, We are living in troubled times and are at the mercy of those who will attack us or rob us. In many areas, people will not call 911 when in trouble, they are more afraid of the police than they are of the attackers.thieves, etc. This should not be the case. All the older folks like me, live in constant dread of being attacked and unable to defend ourselves. Our neighborhood is a maze of short cross streets and culdesac streets.Anyone not knowing the layout could be easily trapped and blocked from getting out to the main street. It is very easy to get lost. My cousin says theives have been syphoning gas from cars parked in home driveways, her car was 'emptied' one night recently. She lives in a queit, upscale area near Atlanta. I wish we could go back to a time when we could trust and respect other people and not have to lock our doors and have a weapon at the ready. I'm glad I have been able to experience those times, just wish we could have them again.
