I just about hate paying retail for clothes..... they are so overpriced! i could think of lots of things to do with old shirts / sweaters / shorts. Unfortunately I am good at thinking and not so good at doing. I air dry lots of shirts. We have only electric dryers down here - air is much cheaper (for now). Went to the flea market today. Bought some great books for few $$. Usually all 600 spaces are full but there were many many vacant spots..... even off season the booths should be open. Wowee zowee..... even the fleas are hungry! paulette in sw fla usa On Sat, Jun 28, 2008 at 12:04 AM, <askgranny@juno.com> wrote: > I wear clothes forever...have shirts that looked faded when I bought them > and they're still good enough to wear around here...I used to go to a > church store that sold clothes for 50 C...& sometimes I go to one here > that sells any item of clothing for a buck..Name brand clothes are common > , which seem to last forever....I also wear them longer before > changing..if it smells and looks clean, who's to know OR care ? Paulette, I've got a large closet weith many clothes, some I have had for many years, some worn only two or three times. I never bought the current styles, always stuck to the classics, skirts, blouses, etc. to mix and match. Lots of sweaters, all cardigan. Can't wear anything that has to be pulled over my head. I gave my daughter-in-law several suits the last time she was here. Always bought new at the better stores but only when they were on sale. When I'm gone, my daughter will no doubt give my stuff to the Goodwill. My London Fog raincoat is 25 years old and looks like new. Has the removable fleece lining. size 18.... Lots of shoes and purses, no hats, I hate hats or anything around my neck. Now I only wear my housecoats as I don't go out anynore. I think I must have had a problem in a former life with being hung or strangled with something over my head. Could be! I don't like scarves or necklaces. London Fog!! wowee zowee... haven't heard that name in ages. I am a "classic" type too. I love how Katherine Hepburn looked in her last years.... she was a class act, fer shure. I love a crispy white shirt - my favorite - down here it's often too hot for it but i still have a few. I sure do miss my boots!!! paulette in sw fla usa.... another hot humid windless day..... still missin' chicagoland....
