holey moley...... I first learned to stuff an apple w/butter/brown sugar when I was a girl scout!! Amazing I can remember that far back. Anyhoo..... we wrapped the stuffed apples in aluminum foil and tosses them in the campfire. Wife used to cook the pears and would add lots of sugar, I kept on her to cook them with out sugar to see how they were, finally she canned some without sugar, (almost, she just had to put in a little sweetnin without telling me) they were the best and I ate everyone she would can from then on. The squirrels want the seeds I guess, it rained pear parts on my head under the tree but could not go get my gun, or camera quick enough.
