It would be good if kids nowadays could grow even a small garden to see where their vegetables come from. We always had a garden when our kids were growing up so they knew about growing our own food. They would go out in the garden and pick their own pumpkin. They helped me pick fruit off the trees for canning. I got to grubb a few new taters a long time ago, been years, when we left the farm and moved to town and daddy went off to war and when he got back and got a regular town job wasn't enough time or muscle for mom and me to make a big garden, town jobs was still ten or twelve hours long then and daddy didn't get much time to garden, I got to walk or ride my bike to the store and bought most of our groceries them times.
