To all on the list, Since readingg the "Outlander" series a few years ago , and about the character Claire and husband James Fraser, I have been curious as to the possibility of one really being a 'time traveler.' Ther are several periods in the past history of my ancestors that I would like to know more about. One is the time of the first known ancesror to come to America in the 1600's. His name was John Haynie. He and wife came over, bringing 19 other persons with them. He had paid passage for them to come from England to 'settle the Colonies.' He received 'land grants' of 50 acres for each person he had brought with him. He bought more land and had nearly 2000 acres at his death. This was in Northumberland Co. Va. Another is during the reign of the French kings in the 1700's. On a visit to the Versailles Palace near Paris with my neice, I felt a strange familiarity with my surroundings as if I had been there before. My niece and I had become separated from our tour group and were standing alone in the great "HALL OF MIRRORS' ballroom. Someone or 'something' tapped me on the shoulder and cold chills went down my spine. I was shaking and couldn't speak for a few minutes. There was a strong odor of rancid perfume and body odor. I can almost snell it now, just thinking about it. I sometimes have dreams about various places that are so real that I feel I have really been there and a part of what was going on. Belle
