    3. I have a habit of smiling at everybody.....which does tend to initiate conversations, at times. If you are ever walking through a store or anywhere, and you look up and some goofy person smiles at you for no reason - it's me!!! hahahaha This lady was in front of me in line so I was trapped. I thought I did ok with my response....maybe she will think twice before blasting religion to someone she doesn't know. What I wanted to say and my conscience got the best of me was: and when was the last time you OPENED UP A BIBLE!!??? I did not hear the ruling. I can't believe people can be so mean and heartless and try to say it comes from God. Which God is that I wonder!! It turned out to be a decent day anyway cuz I went home and baked a cake and ate a good bit of it before the icing was on. Warm chocolate cake w/butter: OH MOMMA!!! paula in sw fla usa xoxoxo ----- Original Message ----- From: "busbys martins" <busmar1852@webtv.net> To: southern-chat@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 3, 2011 10:00:39 AM Subject: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Chatting in Public Places Paula, I just read about your experience at Walmart with that lady's remarks. I am usually open to talk to anybody, but sometimes, especially in a public place, if others can hear, I have at times just 'politely' smiled and walked on, when a person seems upset, and speaks badly. This person seemed to generalize people. She must have just heard the news, about when the Supreme Court upheld the right of that group of people to protest at funerals of returned deceased veterans. The news was full of it here, because Alabama was having just such a funeral, that day. The media, too, everytime mentioned them, as being some name "Baptist Church" they had banners saying terrible things. Maybe that's what it was about? I know it wasn't pleasant.
