I had a nice talk with my youngest sister who lives in Salem, IL..today...whiled away the afternoon hours while watching rain streak the windows...She asked if she'd had chicken pox when she was real young...trying to make up her mind whether or not to get the Shingles vaccine thingee. So I was glad to fill her in on it. ..One time Dad's folks came to visit and my little sister Jan had problems with chicken Pox....I remember Mammy taking her hand and leading her out to the hen house....One of us' ruffians' was directed to go in there and scare the chickens so they would fly out over her head....Don't know what this was supposed to do for the CHICKEN pox, but she survived with no bad effects....Think she wasn't breaking out good.
