The flooding in Nashville was terrible, and somewhat uncalled for..The Corps of Engineers opened a dam they shouldn't have without warning anyone, and people were caught flatfooted, so to speak. They could have saved a lot more stuff if they'd had warning. A hearing was held, but I don't think I ever heard the outcome. A month or two later another big rain came and some homes and businesses that had redone everything got hit again. The Gov. is buying up a lot of flooded homes and will turn the land into parks or something that flooding won't effect...I THINK the Grand Ole Opry may be re opened....We went there in '60 and saw lots of the old time stars....Then hubby played stage shows with lots of them and we just went to see some. He has a great picture album...Dolly Parton was the nicest woman we saw and it was a toss up between Billy Walker and Marty Robbins for the nicest man...We booked the County Fair several years.. I have a son from my first marriage...[ex is dead ], and Hubby and I have a son who's Buzz's step dad...We never see my older son, so all our attention is on Richard and the 3 Grandkids...Hubby did a tour with a Religious group that wanted him to go on the road with them, but he said they were the meanest boys he ever saw and that was it for him !. We went down to Memphis and taped some TV shows for a man who had 2 TV shows plus promoted big Country Music concerts, but we didn't like him, we didn't like Memphis, etc. so we went home to S . Ill....The guy still does a TV show, by the way... I'm glad you enjoy my writing..I get more pleasure from that than anything going right now. I keep meaning to put all my newspaper columns in a book but haven't got it done yet. I find wads of them every time I get into a house cleaning frenzy....Have got a LOT of them close to me now, so maybe one of these days...Need a ghost writer that I can trust....Gotta get my mail..see if Paula has had another wrasslin match with her dogs or that gator !
