Hey Jt.... some people get "light" case of shingles but let me tell you this pain was/is unbearable. Closest I can think of related pain is labor pains. Over the counter absolutely wouldn't work - I tried at first then when I was sitting here sobbing from the pain I had prescriptions filled. Rash is spotty on left arm and almost gone but my arms feels like it's been smashed with sledge hammer. My niece recently got diagnosed with Shingles after having the symptoms several times, but toughed it out with over the counter meds. I used to have some home remedies on it and will see if I can find them...GOOD LUCK!
