My grandson didn't get his act together { PARENTS< really } so is going to school on line...However, he had to take 2 English classes extra, so is staying here in the meantime. I also get to give him driving lessons, because they didn't take him to get them after he had Drivers ed...We are quiet people, and he complained that the silence was making his ears hurt....He yearned for the constant noise at home...several computers, 2 or 3 TV's going, Buzz screaming in his ear.....Well, he just came back from his first weekend at home and I asked him how things were. He seemed awed " I couldn't stand all that noise !I told them I want to go back to Granny's !' I bet they appreciated that, don't you ? We're working on straightening him out...... Opinioned as only a 'college man' can be, I'm working on getting him to be kinder to people...I told him even if he doesn't agree with what we tell him all he has to do is say " I'll remember that ". He has it in his head that a plain blunt answer is best....It's a bit upsetting to have someone sit there and tell me all about something I knew before he was ever hatched ..Sometimes he's right, sometimes not...I try to listen ...Walking through the market with him and having him tell me what meat was supposed to look like was a bit of a stretch..... I feel really sorry for todays kids...after they brag about their computer games, and stuff like that they won't have the memories to share that we do....Sadly enough, a lot of them won't be able to understand why we thought our activities were fun.
