My first California neighbors were from Colorado. The man was a long distance trucker and was away several His father, wife and son (5 yrs) days at a time. Well, I needed to get a California drivers licence. We had sold our auto before we left Georgia. I had driven the new boss's auto from Georgia, so I had no vehicle as yet to use. Marge, the neighbor suggested that I use her car, a new Oldsmobile. She gave my husband the keys and saud she would watch my kids until we got back. We went down a normal drive to the office in Long Beach. I did all the paperss etc, came time for the road test. A nice young man got in with me with his clipboard and pen in hand then told me to drive out onto the street which I did. Then he told me to drive down Ocean Blvd. for several blocks.Neither Marge or my husband had told me that the new Oldsmobile had been 'souped up for 'drag racing.' I gave that poor fellow the ride of his life on Ocean Blvd. He oked my licence, guess he didn't want me back again. Belle
