Jeannie T. I could see how you would want to do that for your husband seeing that he was a Past Master Mason. Our wishes right now are to be cremated & nothing else done..no services of any kind. I questioned my husband about whether he wants to keep paying his Mason Dues & he says "NO". I thought it might be a way that he could get to meet other Mason men in the community. I belong to another woman's organization called PEO (Philosophical Educational Organization). Most of us are retired school teachers. We have our own college in MO. It's called Cottey College in Nevada, MO. We also help people who are trying to get back to school...say a woman has lost her husband, & because she has to find a job, she has to go back to school to get an education in order to get a job. We will give these women a scholarship so they can go back to a college or university in order to get hired by a company. For the most part, all we do is help others achieve a good education. Our dues really went up this year & I'm thinking about going inactive. I have about a month to think about it. ~J in AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, January 24, 2010 9:09 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] More of Belle's story.. > Theres a beautiful ceremony when a Mason dies...I believe the apron is > put on the body, a sprig of greenery is put in the coffin and there's a > ceremony...Only went to one, many years ago, but remember how nice it > was....Not only will HIS Lodge hold the ceremony, other Lodges will > attend to show honor.
