I didn't know that the port had been destroyed until yesterday. We have an aircraft carrier just off the coast. When they saw the airport, they decided to use helicopters to ferry to shore what they could. I was so surprised to learn that the Chinese were among the very first country to arrive. The situation does seem really bad in Haiti. Everyone has been elated at the number of people found alive even after this many days.
