    3. Right now, Jeannie T., we need each other very much. He knows that I will do anything to help him & vice a versa. You know when it comes to Free Cycle, you can post a message that you are looking for some & then you may have someone who will answer you. I have seen many things given away on this site...much more than Bubble Wrap. One day someone asked for a camper trailer & they got one!! The only reason I know this is b/c someone wrote back & thanked the site. ~J ----- Original Message ----- From: <askgranny@juno.com> To: <southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 10:36 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Bubble wrap ? > Oh my goodness ! 3. Jeannie T., I hope that the information that I gave you will help you. If you are really close to somewhere, say like Clarksville, TN..then maybe that's what you could put in for the name of the website. You do have to belong to Yahoo in order to use the website though..at least I'm pretty sure about that. Thanks for the wishes on my knee surgery. Paul & I went to the doctor this afternoon & he's now taking his nebulizer treatments..(like I suggested in the first place). I had been out for most of the night, so he just watched TV. When I got home, he had made himself a hot cup of AZ Green Tea & all of a sudden he started to cough & gag & I really didn't know what to do, so I pushed him as over as far as I could & really slapped him hard on the back. He finally...after quite some time, stopped coughing. I was on the verge of calling 911, when he finally stopped. He said that the tea had gone down the wrong way & he had never had anything that bad happen to him before. He was turning red & I was frantic. He did say if I hadn't slapped him on the back like I did, he might not be around any more. Well, I did what I could...there is no way I could have done that maneuver on him b/c he's quite large. I thank God for helping me to know what to do b/c I have never been in such a spot before. Afterwards, he wanted me to sit in the room with him b/c I think that he was afraid that something would happen again. That is not normal for my husband. ~J ----- Original Message ----- From: <askgranny@juno.com> To: <southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 08, 2010 9:36 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Bubble wrap ? > Thank you for the info on FreeCycle...and for the warning about dealing > with those people...GOOD LUCK on your knee surgery , and hope Paul is all > better by now ...Jeannie T > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > On Sun, 7 Nov 2010 23:44:28 -0800 "Jen LaBonte" <AZJen@npgcable.com> > writes: >> Jeannie T. 3. Jeannie T. In order to get hold of my group here in Payson..you have to go to Paysonfreecycle@yahoogoups.com No doubt you will have to put in a close city to you & if you haven't joined, then I guess you would join. Didn't you say you were fairly close to Clarksville, TN? You may be able to contact their headquarters in your state to find out what you have around you. This particular group started in Tucson, AZ at least 10 yrs ago & it has been going very steadily ever since then. Good luck in finding a group. The folks around here are really nice & I have yet to see anyone who was disappointed with what they got. I offered a small room heater to a gal & she said she didn't have a computer & it would be several days until she could get back to me b/c she used the computers over at our library. Well, she wrote me back on Sunday & our library is closed on Sunday. Then her return address sounded as though she was getting things for free & turning around & selling them. At that time I knew who the moderator was of our group & I contacted her & told her what I told you. I was advised to let this gal know that the heater wasn't acting correctly & I had thrown it in the garbage b/c I didn't want it to cause a fire for anyone. The girl slowed down a bit; however, she's now asking for complete rooms of furniture & all sorts of children's clothes. When she wrote me, she said she was pg 5-6 months. Quite a change. Good luck on your adventures. When I said you would have to join..I meant Yahoo as well as your freecycle group. They are a really fine group & I think you will get a kick out of them. Heading to bed b/c I have to be up early so I can go to the hospital for my pre-op tests for my knee surgery & we are hoping that Paul can get into the doctor b/c he has been very sick. ~Jen in Payson, AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: <askgranny@juno.com> To: <southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 07, 2010 9:24 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Bubble wrap ? >I think theres an org. called We Cycle , or something like that I might > try...Good idea about meeting them somewhere else...However, someone got > robbed recently..thinking it was safe to meet them in a grocers parking > lot. 3. Most likely you could get some at a packaging place (those small little post offices). Most likely it isn't free..but I'm pretty sure they have plenty of the stuff. Too bad you are not in touch with these recycle groups in your state. People are always asking for stuff like you are looking for. And believe it or not..they do get it b/c people are happy to get rid of things. My husband put some visquine(sp) over our slider door in our family room b/c we like to keep it open b/c it has a doggie door in it & then the dogs can go in & out on their own. We have been having some pretty nippy weather up here in the mountains & that door stays open almost all day long. If I can find an address for a recycle place near you..do you want me to send it to you? You can plan to meet the person somewhere other than your home & their home. In fact they encourage people not to give out private information about themselves. ~J ----- Original Message ----- From: <askgranny@juno.com> To: <SOUTHERN-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 06, 2010 9:48 PM Subject: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Bubble wrap ? > Has anyone got any ideas about a source of free bubble wrap ? 3. Jen...at least you tried and you did get "some" good results. The way things are going booze may be something useful for trading. I'm not much of a drinker but do enjoy a glass of wine now and then - if it's sweet enough. Mom tried to make some peach wine but ended up with vinegar. We had so many peaches that year, I think she just got tired of canning and maybe thinking she wouldn't have to sneak out to get a "taste". Those explosions can be messy...that's fer shure....mom exploded the ketchup we were trying to can...notice I said "mom exploded" it. You know I had nothing to do with the explosion..nope..not a thing. paula in rainy, breezy, cool, damp, misty, sw fla usa xoxoxo ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jen LaBonte" <AZJen@npgcable.com> To: southern-chat@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, November 3, 2010 9:50:11 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Chicken fried bacon ????? 2. Great time to be going to Florida! Cold weather coming in on us here in Middle TN...but no freezes yet or killing frosts...Heard some Canadian honkers fly over this week..honking that lonesome sound. I used to really enjoy hearing big strings of these geese fly over when I lived in S. ILL...I'd lay there in my nice warm bed and listen to them honking their way North when it turned cold on them down South...and be happy to hear them fly back South because I knew it would soon be Spring!
