    1. [SOUTHERN-CHAT] : Deelittle Raider dies
    2. Peace Roses
    3. Jacob DeShazer was a bombadier on the Doolittle raid on Tokyo back in WW II. He just died this week in Salem, Oregon. I heard him speak once and had a small book of his life at one time. After he was released from prison camp, he became a missionary to the Japanese, meeting some of the men in the raid on Pearl Harbor. It's quite an interesting story. Remember my url's double so delete back to the original. Emma in Oregon http://www.doolittleraider.com/raiders/deshazer.htm<http://www.doolittleraider.com/raiders/deshazer.htm>

    1. Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Fw: [HS] Buying from China..
    2. I think folks have been asleep at the wheel, so to speak, as China gradually and quietly took over making almost everything we use....I've been noticing it, just kinda in a bemused sort of way, for a long time now...Assuming that was the way things were and I might as well get used to it.....NOW....the powers that be have finally woke up enough to start testing these items we are importing and GOLLEE!!! They are not made to the specs we depend on here in the good old US of A....I KNEW that we shipped poison sprays, etc. banned as unsafe to other countries, and then bought the produce back that is shipped in.....What can we do if it's not available grown here ? Eat something else, I guess....When you read of how the water supply is contaminated with all sorts of growth hormones...oh wait...that's the meat supply....chicken nuggets, etc.....The WATER is contaminated with everything else in the medical line...sex changes in little critters is common...Who knows if this is caused by our flushing unused meds down the 'crapper' or normal body wastes containing ingredients not absorbed by the human body OR foreign countries that want to see us go down the tubes dumping these things in our water supply ? Oh me...gotta get off here...too , too frightening and depressing for an old woman on such a loverly day up here on the ridge...The Sugar Snap peas have shot up out of the ground after lotsa rain and sun and Spring is indeed upon us....For today, anyway........ Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > Friends, > > Have you tried to buy a product lately that is not made in China? It's very a frightening fact when you consider that everything from spiral notebooks to the food we eat comes to us containing poison and foul materials!

    1. [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Cool ! Solar lights.....
    2. I asked hubby to bring in one of the new white light solar lights to see if it would be suitable to use in an emergency for a candle sub...Well, he left it in the hallway and it worked fine...then I took it in the bathroom before I went to bed...Adequate light for using the bathroom......thinking it would be a good deal to use all the time like that , rather than waiting for hard times.....I turned the little lantern looking deal upside down so it would set right....Had a brush underneath so there was a space...VERY cool , though...Think I'm gonna catch these dudes on sale and get more ! Candles are nice but they cost money , cause fires, burn hot in summer....I think it's a good thing....They make yard lights now...all sorts of styles.........Jeannie T

Emma This is what I understand ,remember I don't understand any to much .Our economy isen't looking any to good right now so they take their $$$$ to foreighn banks so there is less chance of them losing it .I think our banks failed in the depression and this was one reason why .So the little guy got stuck holding the bag .Just my summation ,you might know more about it . 3. To all my friends, I think we need to take any steps we can legally take to get thr junk out of the markets/stores,etc. We know that much of it is dangerous to us and our children. If they find no market for it they will get the message that we don't want it in this country. The medicines are especially dangerous, a health hazard that we certainly don't need. 1. [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Fw: [NOR] Daily Joke
    2. ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Thanks to Steve Nativig for Today's Joke ********************************** Ole the Minnesota Furniture Dealer Ole, a furniture dealer from up at Brainerd MN, decided to expand the line of furniture in his store, so he decided to go to Paris to see what he could find. After arriving in Paris he visited with some manufacturers and selected a line that he thought would sell well back home. To celebrate the new acquisition, he decided to visit a small bistro and have a glass of wine. As he sat enjoying his wine, he noticed that the small place was quite crowded, and that the other chair at his table was the only vacant seat in the house. Before long, a very beautiful young Parisian girl came to his table, asked him something in French (which Ole couldn't understand), so he motioned to the vacant chair and invited her to sit down. He tried to speak to her in English, but she did not speak his language so, after a couple of minutes of trying to communicate with her, he took a napkin and drew a picture of a wine glass and showed it to her. She nodded, so he ordered a glass of wine for her. After sitting together at the table for a while, he took another napkin, and drew a picture of a plate with food on it, and she nodded. They left the bistro and found a quiet cafe that featured a small group playing romantic music. They ordered dinner, after which he took another napkin and drew a picture of a couple dancing. She nodded, and they got up to dance. They danced until the cafe closed and the band was packing up. Back at their table, the young lady took a napkin and drew a picture of a four-poster bed. To this day, Ole has no idea how she figured out he was in the furniture business. 3. hey Carol, Your right I forgot that .When I worked in maternity if there was a full moon the place was full ,those storks weren't even stopping for a coffee break ! Another good indication that the storks would be busy was a storm coming from the mountains ,we were at sea level .Ok now you have me thinking ! my daughter ( the soon to be mew mom) has been on a housecleaning binge all day ie "nesting" ?I'll have to check the moon tonight .PA isen't at sea level but there's a big wind been blowing all day .Wish me luck as I have to get home before anything else happens there ,my hubby is about ready to pull his last hair out .As java would say.
