We've had locking gas caps on our vehicles since it started going up in price....The gas tank lid is recessed and you have to pull a lever inside the car ..The neighbors big basset hound is tied up in their yard very near our cars....and ALL the dogs bark when anyone pulls in either drive or when we go out back at night....SO far my request to install the two motion detector lights I bought hasn't had results...Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Fri, 25 Apr 2008 23:57:10 -0700 "Belle Shepherd" <belleshep@cox.net> writes: > Hi all, A friend of mine living near Atlanta, says gas is being syphoned from cars left sitting in driveways.

I think ALL the places make you pay before you pump in this area...and I don't blame them...I use a credit card..on debit..I think some stations automatically freeze your bank account by about 50 or 75 dollars, and then don't turn that amount loose even if you only get a small amount of gas for a week or two.....ALL stations don't freeze up this large amount....Jeannie T ...where gas is 345 as of yesterday....at some stations.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Thu, 24 Apr 2008 23:47:20 -0400 "Mary R Mungo" <MRMungo@Comporium.net> writes: > I noticed that the price of gas has jumped in the last couple of days. Hi all, A friend of mine living near Atlanta, says gas is being syphoned from cars left sitting in driveways. A gallon here, a gallon there adds up to big money these days. Make sure you have a lock cap if you have to leave your car outside, anywhere, anytime. Hi Bobby, it still looks like you did`nt get the poem because you e-mail was blank... I saw every one teaseing you over your biscuits and I could`nt get them out of my mind.. The more I thoought of them the more I tasted them And had to write it down.. I remember writing to you wife and her mom about things like this... I had more fum with them... Funny how you remember things a long time after they happen.. I can`t remember your wife`s name right now... One time she wroy and asked if any one had any Outlaws in there families.. I did`nt know she was talking about a surname Outlaw.... I wrote back and said Honey don`t worry about outlaws-every one has them in there families... I have Ma Barker and some a little closer to home... She wrote me back and said her and her mom got so tickled.. Of course I felt foolish when I realised what I had said... I believe that was mine and her last conversation.. Bob just thought you needed a good memory as well as I do today! Carol in Ky.
LOL!!! HAHAHA... Carol you are so funny and so talented! That's a great poem for Bobby. I hope he will be able to read it... Stella, I bought a bag of rice today and found that the shelves were well stocked. Maybe the rice shortage was started by the rice 'people'... to help their sales? Then again, you never know... there may be a shortage later on. I don't know whether the price was higher or not... I don't buy a lot of rice. I noticed that the price of gas has jumped in the last couple of days. I filled up Wednesday morning at $3.27. When I came back by four hours later it had jumped to $3.34. Today I noticed that it's now $3.45. This is all at the same local store. I'll tell you what... If I was still running that store, I did for 21 years, I would demand that people pay before pumping. If somebody drives off with a tank of gas you've lost just about all of your profit from that weeks gas sales. Believe me, I was making 4¢ per gallon. Ten gallons at $3.45 is $34.50 and the profit made would be 40¢...period!!! When they drive off with a tank full they're driving off with YOUR money in their pocket. Gotta go... ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Hey Lee, I tried to send a message to SOUTHERN-CHAT but all that got through was my name, I am trying to get it fixed. Here is a copy of my message. Bobby I read here where somebody has been wondering where everybody is, I been reading a little every couple weeks or so, just to keep up on whats going on. I don't seem to have time to slow down. I have been in KY with my sweet thang (working a little on her house), staying a lot through the winter, only coming back to AR to pay bills around the first of every month. We went down to Gatlinburg the last of March to her daughters wedding and enjoyed the traffic for three days, can't believe its that bad that early. It was a nice trip though, we're thinking about doing it again next year or in the fall in the RV, if she will ever retire. I got a question, I make good bisquick biscuits but my scratch biscuits with enriched flour are tough. With self-rising flour they ain't much better. I did cut in crisco instead of margarine in one batch and they were edible but greasy. If I use buttermilk instead of sweet, I add a 1/2 tsp Soda. Against my friends advise, I am about to use some rendered grease from the sausage skillet to see if thats better (of course she is from NY and never eat biscuits for breakfast before, but I still love her) she says pork now has got lots of bad stuff in it, but couldn't be worse than melted plastic veggie oil. Hope everybody's doin ok, will post more if I catch up on everything. Bobby Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now. _____________________________________________________________ Click here for the latest quotes on great fixed mortgage loans! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2111/fc/Ioyw6iiglzPf8GQWBEz7ABxoRnYNTvimoAz4Wwm0NEHoOAfGx0dbty/

I didn't get Bobby's email on biscuits I think sometime that mine don't go through because nobody says anything...lol...
Mary, and all that are concerned about rice...I just saw the large bags of the American Value at the dollar store...same as usual. I don't know where Walmart and Sam's get theirs...but the news said Sam's had no trouble gettin rice it was just to keep the large bags in stock for the business consumers...All the Mexican and chinese places to eat buy a lot of rice in the large bags I guess...I don't buy food at Walmart, and very little at Sam's, only the frozen veggie that I am familiar with. Every recall we had on food...it was sold at Walmart, and the beef and peanut butter at Sam's too. Also the spimach recall was at Walmart too....Allen's plant in AR. packages blackeyed peas under the name TOP CREST...and also POPEYE Spinach is from Allens...I buy those brands, and RedGold Company in Indiana raises all their tomatoes...they sell products undr name VINE RIPE.. Everybody got plenty of rice? They say it's going to get scarse!! I don't use THAT much, but do use some. And I'm out!!! I will be going to a meeting late this afternoon so I guess I'd better go and get some... enough to last for awhile anyway. According to the news Sam's Club, and other places like that, are limiting the number of bags a person can get. Wonder what will be next... Better get some dried beans too, while I'm there... I'd like to have a few hens for eggs. But, they'd probably scratch up my garden, wouldn't they? Unless I built a pen to keep them in. Hmmm... that sounds like work!
