Paulette I saw that on the news yesterday. It was fresh tomatoes I use a vegetable wash that I bought at my Grandson's organic store...but my mother always washed every thing that she bought...with dawn dish detergent, and then rinsed well. I scrub all my veggies, including potatoes before peeling.I am afraid they have been sprayed. I hold every leaf under running water, of greens. My daughters buy the prepared Del Monte salad greens and dump it in a bowl...not this ole country gal. Stella
Paulette I eat most anything but baked sweet potatoes or beets looks like I may need a truck load of both. Sweet Potato supposedly the most vitamin complete veg of all time. Them choctaws lived on sweet taters & turnip greens on the trail of tears some of Jospeh Colberts people were upward a 100 yrs young when they arrived in Atoka & Bryan counties Oklahoma. MaryClyde, My heart took a lickin' but kept on tickin' and I can still make this ole Singer sing. Bless all of you. . . . LaDonna ================== JEREMIAH 33:3
Stella, You convinced me. My poor ole body stripped a gear but I'm moving on and Thank my Father I'm blessed with soooo many friends. LaDonna ================== JEREMIAH 33:3

Awhile ago I saw this recipe where you take your pan of brownies, spread peanut butter over them, then spread melted chocolate chips over that. . . WELL, I was spreading the peanut butter while the chocolate melted, AND, you guessed it... I turned around and the chocolate had started smoking!!! I mean smoke was billowing out of the microwave. I jerked that sucker out of there and ran to the back door and left it out on the deck. Of course the kitchen smelled awful by that time... so, I turned on the exhaust fan and in no time flat most of that awful odor was gone. I've probably gotten used to the smell by now... bet it I'd go outside for a little while I'd still be able to smell it when I came back in. I don't know how I get myself into some of the situations that I do. Learned a lesson though... don't turn your back on the chocolate... MaryClyde

That's the way it is here in South Carolina too Emma. We have so little rain that when it does come the oil floats on the surface and it makes the roads slick as ...... well... These people who are in such a hurry slam on their brakes and crash into whatever is stopped in front of them. The weather man told us that we would get rain this afternoon but he got it wrong this time. He's calling for rain every afternoon this week. Hopefully, we'll get more rain on our gardens than we did last year when our crops were a miserable failure...
