Attendant: Welcome aboard Ala Carte Air, sir. May I see your ticket? Passenger: Sure. Attendant: You're in seat 12B. That will be $5, please! Passenger: What for? Attendant: For telling you where to sit. Passenger: But I already knew where to sit. Attendant: Nevertheless, we are now charging a seat locator fee of $5. It's the airline's new policy. Passenger: That's the craziest thing I ever heard. I won't pay it. Attendant: Sir, do you want a seat on this flight, or not? Passenger: Yes, yes. All right, I'll pay. But the airline is going to hear about this. Attendant: Thank you. My goodness, your carry-on bag looks heavy. Would you like me to stow it in the overhead compartment for you? Passenger: That would be swell, thanks. Attendant: No problem. Up we go, and done! That will be $10, please. Passenger: What? Attendant: The airline now charges a $10 carry-on assistance fee. Passenger: This is extortion. I won't stand for it. Attendant: Actually, you're right, you can't stand. You need to sit, And fasten your seat belt. We're about to push back from the gate. But, first I need that $10. Passenger: No way! Attendant: Sir, if you don't comply, I will be forced to call the air marshal. And you really don't want me to do that. Passenger: Why not? Is he going to shoot me? Attendant: No, but there's a $50 air-marshal hailing fee. Passenger: Oh, all right, here, take the $10. I can't believe this. Attendant: Thank you for your cooperation, sir. Is there anything else I can do for you? Passenger: Yes. It's stuffy in here, and my overhead fan doesn't seem to work. Can you fix it? Attendant: Your overhead fan is not broken, sir. Just insert two quarters into the Overhead coin slot for the first five minutes. .Passenger: You mean the airline is charging me for cabin air? Attendant: Of course not, sir. Stagnant cabin air is provided free of charge. It's the circulating air that costs 50 cents. Passenger: I don't have any quarters. Can you make change for a dollar? Attendant: Certainly, sir! Here you go! Passenger: But you've given me only three quarters for my dollar. Attendant: Yes, there's a change making fee of 25 cents. Passenger: For cryin' out loud. All I have left is a lousy quarter? What the heck can I do with this? Attendant: Hang onto it. You'll need it later for the lavatory.

This is a good one. It sure makes a person not want to fly unless it's absolutely necessary. My son and his wife fly quite often in their jobs so I sure pity them. Hi belle..... I don't watch it either.... tuned it in for about 30 seconds one day while I was ironing..... thought it would occupy my mind while I pushed the iron across the clothes. I heard about the 'fist tap' thing from a friend, then looked it up to make sure. Loved the story of the little girls mooning the congregation ! I was kinda embarrassed early in the week when I looked down at my feet in the Chiro's waiting room and found out I had on one light beige shoe and one dark navy blue one ! I got ready in a hurry and just slid my feet into my shoes before standing up...I thought I'd send Son a recent picture so had hubby take my picture in the hall then again outside to show off the flowering hedge...Asked hubby, did you get my feet ? ' Yeah....better take another one though.'... After I got through fussing at myself for getting ready in too big a hurry I happened to think there was an extra pair of shoes in the car ! Yeehaw! I told the receptionist I had to go out to my car for a minute....Saved, right ? Nope...had taken the shoes in the house last Fall, as they were sandals....I told the Doc about it and he said nobody looks at your feet , don't worry about it...Went to a yard sale on the way home, she didn't even notice....When I got here I twirled around in the floor and said " How do I look ?" Hubby was puzzled...said 'Alright...You look nice." I asked 'Are you sure ? Look again'...Twirled...He's even more puzzled....I pointed down to my feet, and he started laughing....Could a been worse...it could have been an important meeting.......Will certainly be more careful in the future....Jeannie T PS: Theres an extra pair of shoes in my car now and forever ! I have a sweat suit in a bag in the trunk..will trade that for a summer outfit ASAP...... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ On Sat, 28 Jun 2008 08:05:41 -0700 "Peace Roses" <Roses4831@msn.com> writes: > I was on another list for a while and a lady told this story about > her little girls. Paulette, I've got a large closet weith many clothes, some I have had for many years, some worn only two or three times. I never bought the current styles, always stuck to the classics, skirts, blouses, etc. to mix and match. Lots of sweaters, all cardigan. Can't wear anything that has to be pulled over my head. I gave my daughter-in-law several suits the last time she was here. Always bought new at the better stores but only when they were on sale. When I'm gone, my daughter will no doubt give my stuff to the Goodwill. My London Fog raincoat is 25 years old and looks like new. Has the removable fleece lining. size 18.... Lots of shoes and purses, no hats, I hate hats or anything around my neck. Now I only wear my housecoats as I don't go out anynore. I think I must have had a problem in a former life with being hung or strangled with something over my head. Could be! I don't like scarves or necklaces. We have an American Thrift Store here. (Used to be Alabama thrift) I have found name brand jackets...that are perfect...like new...I think people buy them, and the color is not right or something. The last one I found was a fully lined New York and Co. and honestly looked like it had never been tried on...it is beautiful shade of royal blue with tiny black piping around necklne and down the front.I will wear it with a black skirt or black pants for really dress up. I usually get solid color jackets and have a skirt to match because I have several of the lined, printed long skirts.I like shells, (or tanks) and jackets. Now things in the Thrift Store are marked 4.88 or 6.88 and even tee shirts are 2.98. I would only buy if it is really good label and in good shape. I like cotton shirts and sweaters. and I hand wash them, and roll in towel...they last forever.I hav gotten lots of compliments on my clothes...I jus say Thanks...and never say they come from Thrift store...I was wearing dress clothes at least five times a week...until my back has gotten so bad. I don't get to go out as much. Stella
I was on another list for a while and a lady told this story about her little girls. It was Easter Sunday and she had them all spiffed up looking really pretty. When they got to church, for some reason that I've forgotten, the 3 little girls were climbing up the steps at the front of the church sanctuary. The two smallest ones couldn't walk up so they were crawling up on hands and knees. She said she happened to look up at them and their bare bottoms were just shining. They didn't have any panties on. She said she was so embarrassed, but I bet everyone else was just snickering thinking how cute they were. The moral of the story is, double check your little girls for underpants before leaving the house. I thought it was funny. It could have happened to any of us. I think they want kids to know their ABC's and their phone number and address....such things....stuff MY kids learned in first grade...They are asked a series of questions....My nephew failed when they asked him what has wheels...He said a helicopter has wheels..WRONG answer...go to pre school... My sister's little ewe lamb has had to learn stuff MY kids learned in 2nd or 3rd grade, I kid you not...He had to learn math, to read, had spelling words, etc, etc, etc....She would tell me something new every time I talked to her....They can no longer spell out words when they don't want him to know stuff...I dread when Buzz has to go to 'Kindergarten garten,' as he calls it.........Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Fri, 27 Jun 2008 07:22:18 -0400 "Smoochie Newton" <smoochieangelpie@gmail.com> writes: > You mean there is a test to get into KindyGarden??
