Yes, I think you did way too much for one day.....When we planted a little garden for Buzz we planted a small pkg. of purple podded beans...Picking them has convinced me I'm too old for bush beans...We plant half runners and pole beans on fences or wire circles..NO bending over ! Mary Clyde, Sorry about the damage to your pear tree, those strong winds can do a lot of damage. Glad to hear that your garden is producing, you must have gotten some much needed water. My brother who lives in Gainesville, Geotgia near Lake Lanier, says they got some rain but not near enough to bring the lake back up. Sorry about the back pain, I can sympathize. It has been an ongoing thing with me for years. Three damaged vertibrae and a fractured tail bone in a bad fall many years ago. I have to be really careful about what I do or it will give me a bad time. Hope you are feeling better and that your garden will do well. Paulette, I take it that you have moved from the island. I hope the new place will prove to be ssatisfactory and you will have no problems with stupid neighbors. I have moved around a lot and have come in contact with some real screw balls but nothing that resulted in injury or real harm to anyone, guess I was lucky. As for the big water, I can appreciate your liking for it but I have also had a deep fear of it. For many, many years, I lived in Southern California, just minutes away from the beachs and ocean. I seldom went down, usally if I had out of state visitors who hadn't seen the ocean and beachs. Ive been along the Atlantic coast,from North Carolina on down to Miami and to the Gulf of Mexico , from St. Petersburg to the Texas cuast. The Pacific fro San Diego up to Canada. Some beautiful spots along the way. Paulett and Bell amd all, I needed to hear a good sermon today... It inspired me a lot... Paulett I believe you done the right thing even though people turn on you... I respect people who know what they stand for and are not afraid to say so... when i was a kid i had wished some one had stood up for my sister and i.... My grandma was mean-she use to say she was going to put us in an orphan home-I did`nt know what that was but I thought Oh! Boy! were gonna get away from here...never happened.. I stood for my neice when she got pregnet and her mom found out it was black...Her mom tried to make her abort it-she did`nt want to.. I showed her scriptures and fought till I lost every so-called friend I had-But I`m happy! My neice has three beautiful biracial girls-talented in singing in churches-art-straight a`s... There grandparents still hate them but they don`t know it... There momma bought a house in a section that`s mixed so they will know all races.... We make loverly candles at Christmas, using paraffin from the grocers...Stand a cheap candle up in the middle of a cleaned wax milk carton...I use a half gallon size usually...Fill in around it with cracked up ice cubes...pour melted paraffin over it and let set in the sink overnight...Next day, carefully tear off the carton after draining the water out and you have a beautiful lacy candle... set it on a candle stand and decorate around the bottom as you like. As the candle burns down, melted wax will run out a hole. Belle....thank you for the encouragement.... the repercussions were great and scarey!! and the threats etc. were the icing on the cake for us (on that island) and we moved. We were sinking fast anyway - the move was inevitable, just prodded along by this situation. As far as the other, my take on it is like this: God did not create the world in the state which it is in now. Man brought evil into the world by selfishly choosing his own way apart from God's ways (Adam / Eve). God's desire was for man to love Him - but by man's choice not by God's forcing man to do so. Otherwise we'd just be robots of a sort and that was not God's purpose. Now all of us live with the consequences of choosing sin (then and now). Our rebellion (Adam/Eve, me, you, all humans) has brought an infinite amount of evil and suffering into the world. God tells us that at an "appointed time" He will end suffering. And don't forget that God has opposers - the world is (right now) in the power of Satan/Devil/the Wicked One. I believe God is/has taken steps to defeat Satan (the ruler of earth at the moment) and to bring in His own Kingdom - Jesus was sent to us and set up a pattern for us to follow..... but do we? The world is still in chaos (children suffering etc.) because of Satan and us (we don't follow Jesus). God's plan is in motion and until His return it is up to us (me, you, everyone) to do what we can to ease the suffering and pain. Yes, those little girls did suffer but just think of what might have happened had I not been a Christian and if I had turned my back on them!! I guess so many of us are just disgusted with this old world these days. Things have changed so much in the last 50 years that it's hard to believe this is the same place we all knew so long ago. My 30-something neighbor came out this morning with earrings in his eyebrows and wearing a t-shirt with such a nasty saying on it that he tried to cover it so I couldn't read it. To me, this is just a sign of the times - a lack of respect for self and for others and worst of all for God. Forget about watching the news..... EGADS!!!.... Recently I turned in neighbors to Child Services even called the school because I saw some things going on with two little girls (5 and 6 years old). Was told by Child Services that all was well....the kids were "well taken care of".... "dont' worry"...the kids "have plenty of food".....etc. Well,,,,,guess what.... the two little girls were just taken into custody with burns from a spoon and lighter burns and one had a smiley face burned into her back!!! The 32 year old mom's 19 year old boyfriend and 16 year old stepson of mom were arrested!!!! I AM SO MAD!
