    2. Just read about the bad winter coming up, but 2 areas were mentioned that weren't supposed to be too bad...South east or South West one was mentioned.....Has anyone done any research on the coming winter that they could share ? I've always heard if theres a LOT of fruit and nuts that means a hard winter, as God is sending us food to store.....I wish someone had all these darn little old peaches that litter the edge of the garden....I've had a stomach virus the last few days and don't feel like fooling with them....Apples all over the ground, too....Yeah, God is definitely giving us a prolific year ....Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Mon, 25 Aug 2008 11:20:33 -0400 "Smoochie Newton" <smoochieangelpie@gmail.com> writes: has anyone heard that this winter is supposed to be brutal??? 3. Come on down,Emma, would thrill me to have you . These colored butterbeans, with sliced homegrown tomatoes, baby vidallias, and hot cornbread are hard to beat.I have enjoyed our local curb-market setup on the University of Al., grounds everry Thursday afternoon.I lost track of how much money I've spent...this stuff was high, but I do like it. One week, I spent 100.00 on fresh stuff. They had Chilton Co peaches, watermelons and cantaloupe, local blueberries, local, Ga., and Fl., strawberries...too so I have eaten my share of those now for months. Local blueberries are gone...have to get them in the store now. My fridge wouldn't hold it, like you said...and I just about have this freezer full. If they have the nice tomatoes Thursday, I plan to can some of them, and I need more squash.A local man raises the small sweet vidallias.(if I am not spelling that right..it's onons!)..I get about five lbs every other week. They are so good steamed on top of green beans, and of course in squash, and everything else! I cook for my brother too you know. Stella

    3. I had a large 22 cu ft chest freezer until I sold my house after my husband died. After I bought my mobile home, I decided I HAD to have a freezer again so I bought a 12 cu ft chest freezer. Still I never kept it full but I had more than the freezer in my refrigerator could hold. When I moved to the apt, all I have is the one in my refrigerator. I sure miss my chest freezer. I would never keep it full but there are times when I need more than what my refrigerator one will hold. I know where to go if I get hungry this winter. 3. I could write a book on what I know of Nathan Bedford Forest. My home was Selma Alabama, where the famous Nathan B. Forest bridge is over the Alabama river..at the foot of Broad Street, downtown.(I was living there during the civil rights years by the way).History in that area on him is not exactly as colorful, either as the history books have it. My aunt lived in a house with cannon ball holes (patched) were still visible through the attic. It was a huge house, and grounds for all the equipment, and animals I guess. The house was taken, at time of all the burning of Selma Ironworks and Navy yard during civil war, and was used as a hospital. Prisoners were kept in Selma too.Worse thing that ever happened to the South. S.

    1. [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Buzz's idea of sharing is a bit strange......
    2. Buzz always checks out his 'treasure chest' after the first frantic hours of coming here....Said'' I can eat all I want of this candy." Ate one sugar free chocolate mint patty and started eyeing the last one in the pack...I told him that was Papa's favorite candy.....He decided to save the last chocolate for his beloved Papa....Then after much consideration, he decided it was only fair to save HALF the last piece of candy for Papa...I cut it neatly in half and he decided to put Papas half back in his treasure chest....Not liking the way this was headed, but highly amused, I said " No need to do that, just put it on the windowsill by Papas recliner.....' He climbed up in the chair and sat down...looked at the candy a little while and then said " I'll eat part of it." I said 'You ARE going to save some for Papa, right ?' He put the rest of it in his mouth and started chewing ..Calm as Judge , he said " He don't want any candy....he's playing the guitar." Makes sense to me....Papa wouldn't want to get chocolate all over those guitar strings , now would he ? .....Jeannie T / ____________________________________________________________ Looking for business phone systems?
