I saved Green Stamps all the time the 2 years we lived in Augusta , GA., and when we moved back up this way we traded them in..Got a bathroom scale...can't remember what all else.....I would have waited as the stamps were less bulky than the 'gifts,' but no stores around here.....Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ On Wed, 3 Sep 2008 00:09:50 -0400 "Smoochie Newton" <smoochieangelpie@gmail.com> writes: > Am I the onliest person in the entire world that remembers S and H Green Stamps??? ____________________________________________________________ Click to become a master chef, own a restaurant and make millions. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/Ioyw6i3m4pCkrgxE4XaNaPqGxhuH5VvEPrR9iUrGc3m1sd87Mv0rKU/

Yes, there was a plane crash not too far from us. The pilot and people in the house were killed. There are several small airports around where people keep their small private planes so we always face that danger. I try not to worry about things I can't control. I have enough other stuff to be concerned about. There was another crash down near Lake Mead. The pilot was killed, I don't know any more details. I used to fly a lot and always enjoyed it but it was still scary. My grandson and his wife travel a lot and I'm always concerned about them. I suppose there is a certain amount of danger in anything we do, can't live in fear of everything. I had my bad fall and broken arms right here in the laundry room a few feet away from where I am sitting. Buzz hasn't been kicked out of school yet...but believe me , it's a near thing ! The first day or two the school wanted to kick him out and the bus driver wanted to kick him off the bus...You see, when he refused to take Buzz home with him he took it personally and decided he'd just go home with somebody else.........each one who got off the bus...actually....Frantic Mommie finally talks the Doc into prescribing him some calm down pills...it was either that or send him to school with a few concrete blocks tied around his neck....Ah, the peace and quiet that descended upon the Kindergarten class come morning.....Oh SHOOT!!!! The pill wore off about noon and Buzz proceeded to do everything he missed that morning ! FRANTIC Mommie heads back to the Dr with very strongly worded notes/threats from the teacher , principal AND bus driver clutched in her shaking hand.....Ahhhhhhh....He gets another pill at noon...this carries him through until he gets home...where he makes up for the 'fun' he missed at school.....Other kids may go home from Kindergarten with a red stamp on the back of their hand if they're bad....Buzz goes home with a red HAND from all the stamps....So far only one hand though, so he's still got room on the other hand.. Luckily, Mommie has made a trip to the pound and adopted a young mini Pinscher for Buzz to play with...Ah.......fun and games...fun and games...They take turns chasing each other.....Sounds of a happy child laughing and laughing...What a perfect Saturday afternoon........Uh oh.....Ol' Kato ' decides chasing a 'wired' 4 year old around the yard in August is for the birds and decides to take a siesta in the shade......Buzz is still raring to go and decides to roust the slacker out from behind the bush with a convenient fallen limb........Mommie gets into the 'act' and Buzz is sent to his least favorite place....Time out in his bedroom....A much wiser puppy opts for a drink of cool water and a nap ....far away from Buzz....I called to talk to him later that day and asked him what he'd been up to....He said " I been badbadbadbadbadbadBADbadBadbad ! I grounded...." It's sinking into his head that school, far from being the wonderful place he's been dreaming of going all these years is not all it's cracked up to be....Said " I gonna have to go to school FOREEEVER !'' Even the big yellow bus isn't near as much fun as he thought it would be...apparently the driver won't take you home with him, or let you go home with friendly kids and he makes you stay on there whether you want to or not.....Sigh.....He did have a hot romance going with a chick named StarrrLa...lots of hugging, kissing and smiling, but that's over already...I asked him about it and he said '' I got a bad feeling about her, so I quit talking to her " There was another little boy trying to cozy up to ol StarrrLa ..which doesn't surprise me, given her 'friendly' ways.....Hmmnnn... Somehow he got the idea if he's bad at school he won't have to go...'Mommie said'....No way , I can guarantee you that.....I bet Mommie grins like a mule eating saw briers all the way back from the bus stop EVERY morning...and far from looking forward to weekends as she once did...doesn't ! .....I was talking to Son about it and mentioned that she might scare him up by telling him about kids that have to be sent to Reform School, but we both shuddered and made the sign of the cross....That would be like throwing Brer Rabbit into the brier patch, in spades ! Son said possibly military school.....but I don't think they're tough enough to handle him...... Well, I talked to Mommie today .....which consist of us talking a few words, then she excuses herself to tell Buzz....'Get out of the room where Daddy's working so you don't get hurt...Get out of the room where Daddy's working so you don't get hurt...Get ...." You get the picture...She says repeating things seems to work best....Ahh..."He left the room....Oh Crap ! He's back in there....." Good news though...He got a good conduct stamp from school today , and given all the facts he is now on the time release pills.....Even the insurance companies of the world can't hold out when Buzz sets his mind to it......I miss that boy ! Bobby...I have two, two cup, and a three cup. Walmart probably has them.(I don't go there if I can help it)..I know Target does, all stores that have (Black and Decker) I found my three cup, while looking around in Big Lotts one time...for $9.95. I saw a sale of small appliances, for 5.00 a while back...I think at Tuesday Morning, or Walmart, that included one. Call all your stores...When I start real baking...or some casseroles I have been known to use all three ...it saves stopping and washing.I think one of my two cup ones, (has a lot of usage behind it) is getting a little dull...so I put things like onion or garlic in the other one. I put chopped garlic in a little E.V.O. before cooking a lot of things.I sure don't cook like I used to...just me and my brother most times. We like it simple...sometimes this summer,I have cooked peas,(or butterbeans), squash and onions, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and we eat it two days...maybe add a sliced tomato, or something. And of course...Iced Tea.He is a meat eater, I am not.I do a porkchop, or chicken breast, or a meatloaf for him quite often. Bobby, get Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and stop breading any foods or frying foods...and use "I Can't Beleive it's Not Butter" I bake a lot, with just Mrs. Dash's and fresh herbs, wrapped tightly, in foil...it falls off the bone. Ribs or pork chops or anything. I 'love" ny fresh rosemary on my chops. My brother doesn't. S.
I like for myself a lot more onion, but she doesn't like raw onion for some reason, so I tame it down for her. in fact I have to make it while she is at work so she doesn't know there is onion in it, she likes it really dry is the reason I drain all liquids, I think I like it better also. I have been given the job of planning our diet for losing some extra pounds we have both gained the last three years since I have been hanging around, having a time with portion control and amount cooked, knowing we will eat more than we need if there is too much cooked. I think we need to increase the work and exercise and leave the diet alone. On another subject, someone mentioned the chopper left on the counter, reminded me that I have been looking for a larger hand chopper, this one only has something like a half cup capacity and I want a larger one, anyone see a larger one, please post it here. We grew up, putting gas on fire ant hills. But there is an expensive bag of fire any killer at Lowe's(can't remember the name) that I bought for the last few years that I had my house.. One application was it...they were gone. I sold my house and yard...but had some little black ants here around flower beds last year. They sting if they touch you...and they make a red bump on me, that lasts a long tme..I have heard of feeding ant hills corn meal...etc...but it doesn't work on established ant hills. It has to be poison that they take down to that 'Queen Bee" You gotta get her, guys!. Stella
I'm gonna do that from now on..... I have sea salt, chunky and fine ground. Would be better than pesticides. I can put salt in the window sills. bobby....no wonder your lady likes the tuna salad. You've got the process down to a fine science!! I guess I should pay more attention when I boil eggs..... I've never timed them, I just do it by the Guess Method.... I "guess" they're done. My dad used to eat sardines on crackers w/mustard.... ACK!! And a real treat was a cracker with mustard and longhorn cheese. Remember when crackers were four in a square and they had to be broken apart..... paulette in sw fla usa...... Bobby...I make mine same as you...my little 'black and decker' chopper stays on my counter. I have a big blender, that does everything, but I use this two cup or three cup chopper daily....I just don't add nearly that much mayonaise, or sweet relish.I made some yesterday.I add two tablespoons sweet relish. I do put more mayonaise if it is for a tomato, or cackers, but I usually make myself a sandwich, and I like to mayonaise both sides of bread.I really like dill relsh. I use it in chcken salad too. Stella

I boil 4 eggs and while waiting for them to be cook, I open and drain a large can of tuna, really dry, add 1/4 cup fine chopped onion, measure up about 1/3 cup dill relish, 1 1/2 cups sweet relish into a tea strainer to drain, when the eggs are done, I let them boil for 11 minutes, cool and peel and drop into the chopped tuna, then chop the eggs and tuna to a very fine consistency, add all the relish after squeezing out all the liquid I can, add about a heaping tablespoon of yellow mustard, about 1 1/2 cups Miracle Whip, stir to a paste, cool in the fridge for at least an hour before eating. Good stuff, on little round crackers. I remember way back when my father would eat canned mackerel with mustard and crackers, I couldn't handle that, I used tuna, boy its a little dry. I didn't have the celery when I started making tuna salad so I just never added it, probably should, for the taste change, of course its a must for chicken-n-dressing, lots of it.
