Well I hope you birthday girls are having a ball today!! AND MANY MORE!!! I have a lemon bundt cake if you care to come over? My Mother used to tell us, when we came around bothering her, and with some silly bunch of stuff...that I suppose she didn't want to get into, or poor thing, maybe she knew whatever it was , happened to be beyond her reach, anyway...she would say, "why don't you go on about your rat killing and leave me to get finished here...or something like that...My husband said it too...Maybe it is a locale based expression...but I heard it all my life.
Hey Stella, I consider myself a Southern Gal and I've never heard of the expression "Rat Killing" either. Maybe I'm not far enough south!!! or am I too far south?? I would never take on a rat either!! One time I was sitting in the kitchen and saw something move out of the corner of my eye... and it was a little mouse... He/she/it was so cute... but I caught it in a trap later and gave it a good looking at, and that rascal wasn't at all cute when you got up close to it. Don't want anything to do with mice either. I have a cat now but he's scared of everything!! I don't know what he'd do if he saw a mouse. He's even scared of my three chickens! They're almost 15 weeks old now... How much longer till they start laying eggs? Anybody know? I have one rooster and two hens... they were all supposed to be hens! Oh well... too late now! I fixed up a flower pot with some straw, hoping that one of them would start laying... but I guess it's too early. The rooster hasn't even started crowing... Time will tell... Hey... today's my 75th birthday... Hey stella girl..... I also use 7th generation and Method. I am going to our D.Genl store tomorrow....it's teeny weeny but does have a few things. Have y'all noticed how many of the canned goods are from Thialand or China? I was amazed that Dole and others are now packed elsewhere. I did find some USA canned goods....Libby for one and Oregon fruits. I tried to grow dill and it all rotted..... I may try again this winter when the humidity goes down (IF it does!). I surely do miss my fresh herbs. Maybe I should start an herb garden inside....have to find a place where my kitties can't get at them. I've called companies when there is an issue...... recently I got coupons for two gallons of free milk.... most places are really nice. STELLA.... WHAT RAT KILLING??? no no no, say it ain't so..... are you runnin' around with a shotgun shootin' rats?? paulette in sw fla usa.......it's a good day to be alive regardless..... Stella, We have a Dollar Store here in Owensboro. I could live for a long time on the things you suggested. I find it very interesting as these are what we eat a lot of anyway. You must be an extra good shopper to know all the prices on everything off the top of your head. Sounds like they passed the bill tonight so the economy should get better I hope. We have a lot of storm warnings and these items would be good for any mishap. Thank You, Judy in KY Stella Roper wrote: > Judy...do you live close to a Dollar General store?
