Yeah, I got one of them things coming on the 17th, will be 72, feeling every one of them last few days, did a little work around the motorhome trying to get it ready for a trip, wasted the time, got problems and no time to fix it now, will try later, and all that work really showed me how I am not near as young as I thought. Oh well, back in KY for the month, will go home to pay bills again the first of November. Happy birthday to everybody. Bobby
Hi Laurelyn........ if you have a decent printer you can print the picture off the internet. I have done that with some other artwork that I liked and couldn't afford to buy. You can even buy printer size canvas paper to print on. The painting must be very old and it is in the public domain so no worries of copyright infringement. paulette in sw fla usa...... it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood xoxoxoxoxo -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: MindaTamsyn33@wmconnect.com > Stella, I bet you have seen that picture. ' Anyhoo..... I went home and hid all that sunday afternoon for fear that MaKettle was gonna give me a good whuppin'. About supper time the preacher came by to have a chat with me ..... uh oh!! ......He assured me that I had nothing to fear from MaKettle on this ..... after all who could be mad at a kid for wanting to follow Jesus? Obviously he didn't know MaKettle very well!!! Me and PaKettle were baptized on the same day....... let me tell you when I came up out of that water there was glorious singin' in the heavens and I could hear it. How does that song go....... Stella, I bet you have seen that picture. I see it all the time, As the other lady said, the list said the Original artist was Lindberg, but I don't know about that, as she said, she didn't believe it either. I also saw on another list the painting was from the late 1800's. I think that is about right. You can buy it now at $35.00 and up I can't afford that. Laurelyn </HTML>
Laurelyn, I may have seen it. I have a lot of old paintings, I really like the one of the two ladies at the round tea table, one seated one standing pouring tea.Beautiful green and mauve colored dresses and hats, in front of an arched window, showing one side draped with curtain., and outside you can see a house...english looking architecture,,but my favorite is the Lady at the Piano.I have a very much, expensive antigue painting of a French Villa front, curved steps up to the entrance, with beautiful flowers, everywhere, and sky with white clouds.I would have to get my magnifying glass to find artists names.I have pictures of three paintings on my insurance inventory.Maybe I will drag it out to see who painted them. You know...it's like a dress...if I like it, I like it. Doesn't matter who painted it...unles you were looking for one to buy. Stella
boy oh boy.... try to find anything on that beautiful picture. The consensus on the Internet is that the original artist is unknown. The painting mostly appears under the German title "Heilige Schutzengel" (Guardian Angel) making me think the original came from Germany or Switzerland? It's been reprinted thousands of time..... some resources say the original artist is: Lindberg but I think that is the printing company and not the name of the artist. paulette in sw fla usa..... oh a surfing I will go.... xoxoxoxoxo -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: MindaTamsyn33@wmconnect.com > I was interested in talking about that painting you mentioned - about the two > children walking over the old ramshackled bridge and the Angel watching over > them. Hi Laurelyn, I love the picture also-will do some research on it and see who painted it... You know I believe that painting has touched so many peoples hearts... I remember when they came out as part of a calendar to... You know when I got saved it was on an old swinging bridge....I was ten years old.. This woman was giveing out tracks on the otherside and I thought I go get me some of what ever she was giveing away... I was with about ten other kids and she met us half way across the bridge and retched out and grabbed my shoulder and said would you like to go to heaven insted of hell ???... I nodded my yes and she said pray as I do... She began to say the sinners prayer.. But what had happened to me had already happened before we began to pray... I was feeling elated and thought my feet was`nt touching the ground... I got scared and ran home thinking I was up in the air... I got under the house in an old tater cellar and stayed there till that feeling left me... I thought every one could see how I felt and how I was up in the air and was imbarrased.. I don`t believe I was up in the air, if I was some one would of said something... I did`nt know what had happened to me untill I went to live with a preacher woman in Detroit, Michigan .... She had simular experiences.. I was really afraid to tell any one thinking they would think I was crazy.... I`M 67 now and don`t care what people think of me... Ladonna sent me some material with that picture on it-it`s wonderful... Write and tell me something good that has happened to you because of the picture ot any thing ! Hi La Donna, I just burst into tears for you and Belle, and all others...I have always been told, that losing a child is worse tan losing a mate or even your Mother, and losing my Mother was really crushing...so I can't identify with you on your son, ..but I can openly, and whole heartily offer any comfort that sharing Gods word brings.I just finished writing about three pages at least, to Belle.I thought best not to put it on list. I think a lot of 'lurkers' are on our list. Don't won't to do something wrong. But I shared with her, lots of good examples in the Bible...like Job,who certainly did not understand why these things were happening to him..but he did not wavier in his faith in his creator. and Abraham, who trusted God enough to sacrifice his loving son...Now that is trust...to give them up, knowing that God will raise them up again. The Bible is full of good examples that are beneficial to us today. You know Paul said "All scripture is inspired and beneficial for teaching" I have t go eat a bite...and take my B/P medicine...but I am glad you can talk about it, and I am glad you had him, too...and please know...he will be in the resurrection, and given a chance to live forever...Jesus told us what his dying for us meant. It was a ransom.to give back what Adam lost. One perfect man..to make up for Adam's sin. Adam was not perfect when he died but the greater Adam (Jesus) was. LOVE to you...have a good night, and I am glad we are friends. Stella
Stella, Your reply to Belle was so full of Love and Praise it gave me Holy Ghost bumps. I lost my only son in 1996 when he was just 36 and it was the most horrendous thing any parent could have put on them, there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of him and forever I would try to think what I could have done to make his life easier, happier but by the Grace of God I finally got past that and now I just THANK God for each moment I was blessed with him in this life. We were very close. LaDonna ================== JEREMIAH 33:3
I was interested in talking about that painting you mentioned - about the two children walking over the old ramshackled bridge and the Angel watching over them. That picture has meant a lot to me all my life. My mother had a copy of that picture, it was pretty big and it hung in our living room all my life. I had a cousin a couple of years younger of me - my mother and my aunt would talk about that picture and it was like me and my cousin, and it meant a lot to them too. Do you have any idea who painted the picture and how old it is? I am 74 and we had it way before I was born. My daughter got me a very small copy of the picture and I usually have it hung in my room. Then we found a figurine, the Angel, the boy and girl, and I love that one too. Thank you for mentioning it. Laurelyn </HTML>
I believe it was Carol, from KY., who mentiond that painting. I am not sure I ever saw it...but it sure sounds interesting. Carol..might have it, herself. Hope you find it. If it was new I would think Thomas Kincaid painted it. Stella
Thank you Carol..I was never in the least offended..don't you worry about that...we are all adults, here, and I think we all want to end up just alike, don't we?......if we don't understand something...we ask...right? I don't trust this webtv...so I thought I had missed an email. I hope you are doing better, going into what they predict to be a harsh winter. This wall street crisis is not much different than what has happened before, I am sure you remember the S&L's....it is just on a massive complicated scale, on computers, phones, and other innovative ways of handling deals, any kind of transaction can be done instantly. It is not as easy to fix, as back when we worked by hand...we had a current paper trail of everything, to go back and straighten out.I would imagine a great percentage of these contracts and commercial papers, were changed to be whatever they wanted it to be, to make more money. Greed! So much of it is past understanding...how can they pay those CEO's a million dollars a month bonus??? Bonus, on top of millions salary. People complain about coaches, and athletes making so much money, but .at least, athletes get down and dirty...these men are dirty, but in a different sense. They wear their expensive silk suits and do no work.I hope there is a way to stop some of it...but it won't all be stopped...I knew the hold up on passing that bail out plan, was to give them time to consult all the lobbyists, attorneys, and the payback folks , night and day to make sure they came out Ok.But we will all live through it,,,I sure wouldn't shoot myself over a house!!! Well, to be honest...I wouldn't shoot myself over anything! Bye, Ya'll;...Stella
