We are having rain today and it will go on the next few days. I think Spring willl be announced by the weather and the flowers blooming everywhere regardless of what the cloks and calendars show. We had snow on July 4th near Quincy, California during a company picnic. Quincy is in Northern California near the Feather River Canyon, beautiful scenery.I've driven that canyon road, durvy and scary, no guard rails on the south side, only cliffs and falling boulders on the north side. Very little highway maintence by the county or state. I thought you were going to say you could only get a spit bath today. but, you had your daughter's house to go to. When I had a cast on my leg for so long, I could only take spit baths, I couldln't get that cast wet. I never felt like I was really clean. I'm sure no offense was intended since I have never made a comment or post to this group. I have read the many posts with religious connotations (as well as the political) throughout the past several months. As someone else said, since I have never spoken then I have no right to comment on past conversations. Although I don't agree, I will agree. I am quite familiar with Jesus of Nazareth. It just seemed odd to me (for no particular reason today than any other day) for someone to say "where would jesus be". Then thinking back on some of the other correspondence making reference to jesus, I wondered if anyone ever considered that some people don't wonder where jesus would be or what would jesus do. I have enjoyed immensely some of the chatter until religion in interjected. Likewise with politics. Thank you for allowing me to contribute. In a way this conversation is amusing in that I was telling a friend about the "what would jesus do" remark. She, being a Wiccan, said she would ask "what would Mother Nature do", then went on to say that we pretty much saw what she would do. I thought this very interesting. Hi Kay and Belle and all..... just saw where an American was pulled out of the rubble still alive after all this time...he could tell them his back hurt. Isn't that amazing! I have great faith in the abilities and promises of both former presidents Bush and Clinton. Haiti still seems to be reeling from after shocks....that must be horribly frightening. My fil died from kidney failure after he made the decision to stop his dialysis. He was calm and did not suffer. Dialysis just wore him out after several years. He lived longer than his doctors thought he would. I pray that Emma's family & friends will be supportive of her decision, whatever it may be. I always thought that praying for one another is one of the most precious gifts we could give to another. If we can't express our care and concerns about others, as many faiths teach, I'm gone. One thing that makes this list special is that we do care about others and that we can express it here whereas it would be 'forbidden' in other places. Is this our list mommies trying to wash my mouth with soap? If that's the case, then so be it and I'm thrown off the list. I might be wrong, but I believe that there are many people here who care about others and who are thankful that we can speak of our faith and how faith sustains us as individuals.
