    3. Belle, I could just see that happening. We have neighbors who have 'souped' up all their cars. I have always wondered what their delight was in hearing these roaring mufflers when they back up & then go down the street. Oh well, to each his own. Glad you didn't have any trouble getting your license. ~J in AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Belle Shepherd" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 20, 2010 5:27 PM Subject: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Friends..Neighbors. > My first California neighbors were from Colorado. 3. Yes, Ann, it has been very interesting, not always good but still interesting. In my early years I had some incidents that destroyed most of my faith in anything or anyone I was aquainted with and I haven't been able to restore it to the point I once had. 2. Miss Stella, I have often thought abt a women I met years ago in OR. Linda ------Original Message------ From: busbys martins Sender: [email protected] To: [email protected] ReplyTo: [email protected] Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] [KYHeritageFolklore] Friends-Neighbors. Sent: Jan 21, 2010 05:28 Belle, I sat down here, one Saturday and tried through every known means to locate all my old neighbors, in Oak Ridge Tn, where I lived the first three years of my marriage, and had two babies there.Only thing I had to go on, was names and some had talked about the state they were from. I had one girl across the street from me, who was about 12 years older, had four kids, and a very unhappy marriage. All she talked about was something he had done to displease her. It seemed to me he was a very hard working, easy going man. Guess she did not love him. She was very pretty and kept herself all 'fixed' at all times. She was the only person I found, because I knew he was from the little town of Oliver Springs...and he had a lot of brothers there...so I asked operator for his name there...got a son of theirs. He told me his Dad had died about twenty years ago with heart attack, and Marge was in a nursing home in a town not too far away...and didn't even know any of them anymore. I cried my eyes out. I still see her perfectly clear, laughing and hugging and kissing on her kids a lot, she had a beautiful singing voice....and she loved country music, and bought all new records.I cannot imagine her any other way. I asked Jerry to talk to her about me...tell her I love her, and remember our trip to Nashville. He said if he got any response, he would call me. I didn't hear. I tried several states in white pages for people that I never found.. The neighbors I had in Selma, where I lived until I came up here...have passed on...one by one...a few of the women left. It is very sad to me. I start to send a card...or call...and remember. I lost my oldest brother two years ago and it seems like yesteray.Stella ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

    3. Hi Jen, then I'm not the only one who has boxes of pictures to put in albums. Actually, I'd like to scan the negatives and put on a disk. I know that is a major project and is going to take days to do, so am waiting for a week when I can devote to it. Kay In a message dated 01/20/10 00:28:04 Central Standard Time, [email protected] writes: I think I do have some pictures. Thank goodness for digital cameras. I have taken so many pictures in the past & unless I kept them in an album I usually tossed them boxes or I gave them away...and therefore, I don't really have that many pictures any more. One of these days I plan to put all the lose pictures in albums..don't know when that will be though. One of these days we have to get our acts together & start weeding out all the things which we have accumulated over the 12 yrs which we have lived up here. I have an airdyne bicycle which I have been trying to sell. I plan to put it on Craig's List...but I don't know how to put the picture on the site. I have a friend who I think will help me out. I can write the ad..that's no problem..but I don't know about putting a picture of it on the site. We will have to take it outside to take a picture of it. It has been sitting in our living room for the past 4 weeks since we were advertising it in the paper. We had one person come over to look at it but I think he had plans of low-balling us & once he saw the bike, I think her realized that we were asking a reasonable price for it . If we cannot sell it through Craig's List then I just may give it to the place that I went through all my rehab with. I will ask them to buy it first..but I have a feeling they won't want to put out money at this time. I had some coral bells in one of the attached boxes in the front of our house. My husband thought that it would be best if he pull them out because they would come up next year. I could have killed him. I caught him before he did too much damage. He did do a good job of cutting back one of our peach trees & I noticed from the window today that it already has some leaves & peach buds on it. Normally, he does most things right..I was surprised when I saw him pulling those coral bells out, that's all. Just keep reminding your hubby about he plants & I'm sure he will soon be doing what you "suggested" to him. Of course, men never realize that they have been "told" how to do things..at least my husband doesn't. I couldn't ever have a better husband though...guess that's just part of being married. Well, I best finish up & head toward bed. Our TV went out on us earlier tonight & I was interested in seeing the news. It just went back on again...FINALLY. I guess Flagstaff is getting a lot of snow. We are getting plenty of rain..so I don't know if it's because of our rain that our cable went down or if it was due to the snow on the satellites in Flag. Probably we will get up tomorrow morning & there will be snow on the ground. It will only be here for around 24-48 hrs. Heard from a friend in Tucson tonight & they are expecting blizzards down there. BTW, meant to ask you if you got your information from that crematory place? We got ours & I sent ours back in on 1/7/10. Seems like it's taking a while. I guess though that they give you cards & put all your records together. I guess I'm getting a bit impatient. ~J in AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 19, 2010 9:15 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] SPRING!!! >I lived in Chicago for 10 years and in Southern Ill. for about 20, best I > recall..Around Salem, IL. Sent: Jan 18, 2010 11:05 PM Every Spring since I have lived elsewhere I have really missed my beautiful pink and white DOGWOOD TREES in Georgia. They are a sight to see. There were lots of them in our neighborhood. The new leaves on the other trees growing to make shade on a hot summer day were also very pretty and welcome. We have a mimosa tree in our back yard that will soon show signs of new foliage and shade the patio. I do miss my dogwoods and fruit trees.
