    1. [SOUTHERN-CHAT] Woman shot in head
    2. Roses
    3. Subject: Woman shot in head You won't believe this! Your laugh for the day. Emma Woman shot in the head Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her in-laws and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. Later, her husband noticed her sitting in her car in the driveway with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. He became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Linda's eyes were now open and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Linda replied that she had been shot in the back of the head and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. The husband called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands from her head. When they finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head. A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered. Linda is blonde, a Democrat and an Obama supporter, but that could all be a coincidence. The defective biscuit canister was analyzed and it was determined to be Bush's fault.

    3. Hi Shorty, I do not know if she has married. You see, she wanted to marry my sister's husband & she felt that my sister stole him away from her. Her maiden name was Carolyn Kuhl Tyler & I cannot tell you the number of places I have looked for her...Google, all sorts of places on the web. I even put out a missing person's report on her. I doubt if I will ever find her again. I had one gal claim that she had found her in either CA or FL. She gave me a phone number to call b/c she said that Carolyn would have to agree to talk to me. Well, I never heard from her...so I don't know whether or not this was the real person. I don't know how this person found her. They had a married name. Then I guess she was divorced & all this seemed to go around & around. My sister has always told me that her husband said that Carolyn was into drugs & I simply cannot believe that. Dick, who died 4/4/10, supposedly said that she was probably dead. ~J ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anna Marie Rahfeldt" <shorty6337@hotmail.com> To: <southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 2010 5:03 AM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] re > > Hi Jen, > > Do you know what Carolyn's married name is, that is if she got married? > If you know her full name maybe type it into Google and see what you come > up with. 3. I agree, growing old isn't for sissies. Every time I turn around it seems that something else aches. I absolutely hate the white hairs which keep growing out of my chin. I feel like I'm Wanda the Witch..all I need is a big mole to go with the hairs!! I'm like you Ladonna & Paula..few hairs on my legs, under my arms & on my toes. I can remember when I was younger I used to shave my toes. Don't even think about that any more b/c I cannot get in & out of a tub since I had my fall & broke my ankles. Of course, it doesn't help to have a bad back. I was suppose to have more back surgery..but the last time I made an appointment to see the doctor I ended up seeing the PA & he had me going to rehab 3 times a week. I was finally able to find a shower chair that I could sit on in the shower b/c I was so afraid of falling again. You gals are not there yet...but take it from me, "Growing old is not for sissies!!" Too bad Buzz hasn't finished his CD on calling in rain or repelling it, or you wouldn't have to put up with weather extremes any longer. I'm not kidding..the boy has a request for a weather controlling CD and they are working on it... 3. Never thought of that Jeannie T. I used to tell the children when I was teaching school that their nose acted like a filter & that's where all the dirt & dust was filtered from going into their lungs. We never discussed eyebrows. Happy Birthday to Buzz!! If he comes up with some good ideas on how to control weather...especially the rain...you are set for life!! We are suppose to be going through our Monsoon up here in the mountains of AZ...but for one reason or another, everything has stopped up here. Maybe we need him up here to do a rain dance with some of our Indians. ~J in AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: <askgranny@juno.com> To: <southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2010 10:36 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] eyebrows > Put yer old thinking cap on Smoochie, and you'll find maybe the reason we > have eyebrows AND eyelashes is to protect the eyes from dirt, > etc...Falling dandruff, etc, etc...At least that's what seems to be in my > fading memory banks... > > Too bad Buzz hasn't finished his CD on calling in rain or repelling it, > or you wouldn't have to put up with weather extremes any longer. 3. Hi all, my eyebrows haven't thinned or changed color, even though my hair has thinned and is beginning to gray. Oh how great not to have to shave legs but like you, Paula, I have a few underarm stragglers which have to be tended. My nieces get a huge kick out of all this body hair running away as we get older. 3. Guess we are all going through the issue with lack of hairs above our eyes, under our arms & on our legs. You gals are not there yet...but take it from me, "Growing old is not for sissies!!" Guess what?? I think I'm falling apart!!! <g> ~Jen in AZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ladonna Pipkin" <fromtheghetto@rocketmail.com> To: <southern-chat@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2010 7:26 PM Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] eyebrows PAULA AND ALL My eyebrows have looked the same since i was a teenager, that tweezing hurts one time one hair was enough never touched them again, i slap the nair underarms and on legs wait five minutes and step in shower, ain't got no toe hair but do have a couple facial hair thinking about getting them lasered while they are still dark am told it want work after they turn grey. its raining in Oklahoma LP --- On Wed, 9/8/10, *paula* <freckletoes@comcast.net> wrote: From: *paula* <freckletoes@comcast.net> Subject: Re: [SOUTHERN-CHAT] eyebrows To: southern-chat@rootsweb.com Date: Wednesday, September 8, 2010, 1:29 AM I just wonder if eyebrow hairs thin out same as our head hair and "other" hair as we get older?? 3. *Paula* I used to go to a place where I bought my make-up & the woman would remove my extra eyebrows with a machine. It did hurt though b/c each time she would pull a hair out I would nearly jump out of her chair!! I started having Fran do it to me when I was in Junior High. Fran is now 90+ years old. Of course, I don't live in IL any more..so even if someone at her place did do this, I couldn't get it done. I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't had my eyebrows done in years. They are not as bad as that star who has/had heavy brows & they nearly grew into one another. However, they have gotten a bit out of hand. I really need to pluck them..but just cannot see them well enough to do them. Your poor cat!! Like Ladonna, I hope that he doesn't get a hair ball. Have never heard of a place who did nothing but eyebrows. That's totally wild!! I know that the gal who used to do my hair years ago would put hot wax on people's eyebrows & the extra hair on their upper lips & would remove it that way. I always figured that had to hurt quite a bit. Hope you had a nice Labor Day.
