    3. Veteran merchant dies June 30 - O C LANDRUM. Died St Joseph Hospital in Louisville Saturday night, age 66. Had been in the hospital 3 weeks seriously ill. Veteran member and partner of the BRADSHAW, HAGAN & Co; also partner of the HGAN, LANDRUM & STONE Co, Lyons Motor Co; member Aetna Oil Agency. Elder of T'ville Church of Christ; member of church 24 yrs. Oldest member T'ville Masonic Lodge 753. Had traveled for a number of years as a salesman for DAVIDSON Bros Wholesale; had been a teacher of Monroe Co schools. Survivors include the widow, Anna GEE LANDRUM, & 4 children - Mrs Nina MOSS of Jamestown KY; Mrs Carmon BOOTH of Van Nuys CA, Mrs Nelle PITCHFORD of Scottsville and Clifton Landrum of T'ville. Two brothers: Nate and Mike of OK; half-sister: Mrs Clara CHEEK of Louisville. Services from the home, services by C D TIDWELL, burial Oak Hill Cemetery. James Clarence EMBERTON died at his home in the Poplar Log Section Saturday, 30 June, age 62. Had married Orpha Ellen PROFFITT on 23 Jan 1910, survives. Also survived by 11 children: Clifford, Manche, Fontis, Kermit, Louis, D R, Jimmie, Mrs Agnes PROFFITT, Mrs Lucy HALE, Mrs Isabelle GILL - all of Monroe Co and Naomi LLOYD of Louisville. Four sisters: Mrs Weltha WOOD, Mrs Maude BLEDSOE and Mrs Pearl BROWN of Monroe Co and Mrs WELCH of Indiana- polis. Two brothers: Edmond of Terre Haunt IN and Elisha of Kemp IL. 14 grand- children. Burial Poplar Log, services by Rev Garnett MARTIN. Betty Lou WALLACE, 8 yrs old, died at Glasgow hospital Monday evening, 6pm from injuries received when she was struck by a car at noon in front of ISENBERG's Store at Summer Shade. Driver was a salesman from Arkansas. She is survived by: Parents: Mr and Mrs W Y WALLACE; 3 sisters - Mrs Golda LIVESAY of Pontiac IL, Barbara and Rosa at home. 5 brothers: Keith of Poloma IL, Esel & Randall of Hoopeston IL, Theonia and Rex at home. Grandparents: M/M D E EDWARDS. Services at HATCHER's Funeral home; services at Lick Branch in Barren CO; Rev. J M VAUGHAN officiating; burial Big Meadow Cem in Monroe Co. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs Effie Jane UPCHURCH died at hospital in Antioch CA 12 June 1951, age 66. Native of Monroe Co. Survived by 2 children (not named), 4 sisters & 4 brothers. Sisters are: Mrs Donna EMBERTON of T'ville, Mrs Florence HOWARD of Bowling Green KY, Mrs Ethel TAYLOR of Oakland CA and Mrs Ona SLEDD of IL. Brothers: Benton PITCOCK of T'ville, Oscar Pitcock of Taft CA, Leonard Pitcock of Sacramento CA and Joseph D Pitcock of Pittsburg, CA. 3 grandsons, one great- grandson. Burial Community Cemetery at Antioch CA. Clay RHOTON dies at home on Route 2, 25 June, age 66. Survived by his widow, Mrs Myrtle RHOTON and 4 children: Clyde of Indianapolis, Claud of Fort Bragg NC, James at home and Mrs Edwin YORK of Route 2. Sister survives - Mrs. Janie STEEN of Hume IL. Burial was at Old Mt Hermon, servies by Bro M T PHEMISTER. Personals: Mrs Leighton AUSTIN & dau, Mrs Elizabeth CARLE of Hollywood CA visited their nieces & cousins: Mrs Cloe BRADSHAW, Mrs Mable GREEN & Mrs T L CARTER. Mrs Austin is daughter of the late Jim BARR of Fountain Run. Mrs. Nora J CRAWFORD & dau Hazel and Mrs Annie SPEAR visited Mrs Rosalia SLAUGHTER of Hestand. M/M Sidney JACKSON of Chicago visited thei rparents, M/M Sherman JACKSON & M/M Doc STRODE & other family in Monroe Co. Jailer and Mrs. James M JOBE and Mrs Nora J CRAWFORD and daughter Hazel had as guests Lt & Mrs A D SLIMKO of Fort Jackson SC. Mrs SIMKO ia a dau of M/M JOBE. Mrs _ R RAYBURN & dau Sarah Ann expected to arrive from Fayetteville NC for a visit with relatives and friends. Mrs H B SWANN spent last week with her mother, Mrs Gertrude GILLENWATER of Cave City. Phyllis McPHERSON, dau of M/M Phillip McPHERSON of Louisville spent time with her grandmother, Mrs Lou CROWE. Mrs Lee PAINTER attended her home church at Whitleyville TN last Sunday; she and huband and son were dinner guests of M/M Frank TAYSE of there. Jack & Jenks BRITT visited their grandparents, M/M H B SWANN. M/M Woodrow FERGUSON & sons of Waveland IN spent a few days with M/M Marshall CLARK. Other weekend guests were M/M Claude DILLARD of Louisville. Picnic at Dale Hollow. M/M Lester BARTLEY and dau Betty Gale returned from 10 day vacation in Miami and FL. M/M J M ENGLAND and M/M Tommie ENGLAND of Sullivan IL guests of M/M Johnnie CROWE. Mrs Ola COPAS of here and dau Evelyn of Nashville TN attended wedding of Edward COPAS to Betty SALESMAN of New Albany IN 30 June. Miss COPAS is a student of a Nashville business college.
