Harry Lee BIRGE of the Sullphur Lick community received fatal burns on 8 Oct when he attempted to save his 2-yr old daughter from their burning home. His wife and daughter are recovering satisfactorily. They had started a fire in the kitchen stove, then gone to the barn to do the evening chores, saw their house on fire. Mrs. Birge was able to get the baby out & Mr Birge had to plunge thru a burning room to reach the 2-yr old whoch was playing near the stove. His clothes were borned off and his body completely seared from head to toe. He was rushed to Howard Clinic in Glasgow but died within a few hours. She was burned around the face; everything was destroyed.
