Proved by testimony to be guilty; fathered a female child by Fanney LYONS. He to pay 3 pounds 10 shillings annually for 10 yrs for support; he went bond and security agreeable by law. Signed by he, Benjamin HAMPTON, John McNEEL, Daniel STONE, Wyate ANDERSON (his sureties). Testee: W CHAPLINE. Jonathan RUSSELL, assignee of John M CORD who obtained a certificate for 200 acres of land is permitted to remove the same entry as it was taken by a prior claim. William MITCHELL, Wyatt ANDERSON and Samuel McFADIN are summoned to appear before the Justices to show cause (if any) why Mathew, Peggy and Abner EADS should not be bound as apprentices to learn some trade. Ordered that the Clerk bind Matthew EADS to William MITCHELL to learn the trade of farmer. Ordered that the Clerk bind Abner EADS to Wyatt ANDERSON to learn the same. Ordered that Peggy EADS be bound to Samuel McFADIN to learn the trade of spinning, knitting, etc. Ordered that the Clerk bind Bartlete and James EADS to Daniel McNEIL to learn the trade of farming. Ordered that the building of a Clerk's office for the use of the County to the lowest bidder at the next Court to be as follows: 16 feet square of hewn logs, one story high, shingle roof, two windows with glass, good sufficient press & table, good plank door, stock lock. Ordered that David HUDSPETH, John CURD, Gladin GORIN and Thompson BRIGGS be appointed Commissioners to let out the bids. Court adjourned. To be re-convened 15 June 1801.
