1st - Charlie has posted the puzzler for the week and thanks for all the good guesses from last week! To make a guess, click on gensoup in my signature line and I'll receive your guess as an email. 2nd - Some up-coming events you might be interested in if you're in the area! June 10th: Bell's Tavern Heritage Festival, Park City KY, Festival music performances begin at 1:00 p.m. This is always a fun event. If you have any questions (I don't have a lot of information yet), Contact Joy Lyons at djlyons@alltel.net June - Adair Co will be holding it's first book fair. I will get the information and send it in a separate post this week. June 3rd and 4th: The wonderful Glasgow Scottish Highland Games. There will be activities starting on the 30th of May, but the weekend to tour the games, meet the clans, watch the competitions and hear the music will be Sat and Sunday. This is my favorite event of the entire year; it is clean, inexpensive, colorful and thrilling. For further information check out: http://www.glasgowhighlandgames.com/default.htm If you love Scottish music (bagpipes and drums especially) Albannach and Seven Nations will have you standing on your feet cheering. They perform throughout the weekend free plus an evening concert on the lake. Many clans are in attendance with information on genealogy; Scottish games are held in the center arena; good food .... yummy! 3rd - I encourage you to check out the Barren Co query board. If you are on the KYBARREN list, queries posted to the board are cross-posted to the list but not vice versa. There is a ton of information out there - wills, deeds, marriages, obituaries, etc plus queries. To get their easily - click on the URL in my signatkure line called SCKY links and then click on the Barren Co board. You need to check out the Barren Co website too - there is a LOT of information there, photographs, etc. You can follow the same link in my signature line to get to the website also. As a special request! If you post a query or reply to one on the query board, there is a line where you enter the surnames that you mentioned in the query. PLEASE fill out this surname line, it makes it easier to be picked up on search engines where other people can find your query. List ONLY the names of those mentioned in your post - not all of the names for which you are searching. The easiest and most proper format would be to list the names such as: Jones, Smith, Keepemsneezing (etc). Non caps, separated by commas. 4th - a smidgen of progress on my eye. Still have blurriness but seem to be able to see a little more each week. Continuing on prednisone drops for 2 more weeks and then another appt with my eye doc. Still a little imbalance from seeing differently from both eyes - and I'm still not answering a ton of emails - trying to get a few replied to each day.If the blurriness does not disappear, I have to wait 3 months after the surgery and then have laser surgery to correct the situation. Have a great day gang and thanks for all the Mother's Day greetings!
