I couldn't let the time pass without wishing all the Moms on our lists a wonderful and Happy Mother's Day. Guys, you can eavesdrop - or think of your own Mom or wife. When I first started genealogy, I soon learned that many people weren't interested in tracing the descendants of the daughters - too much trouble they said. Well .... they didn't know what they were missing. When we think of the hardships that our pioneer ancestors (and back) endured; marrying many times in their teens, having 10-15 children; living in a one or two room cabin with no televisions, video games, microwaves, washers and dryers, no electricity ... it is a miracle that they survived and kept their sanity. It would put most of modern-time Moms to shame --- we complain if the cable is out, the internet down, the car making a funny noise, or the vacuum needs a new filter! So, I just wanted to stop in and say - Moms, you ARE appreciated! Take a few minutes guys to stop and think of your own Mom, what they did for us, and what many still do for us. If you're married, give your wife a hug - that goes a long way in making Mom feel great! Happy Mother's Day gals!
