John Pendleton King, the senator from Georgia, was the son of John King and Nancy Brandon of Bedford County, Tennessee. This family did live in Barren County until 1807, when they moved to Bedford County. This family should not be confused with my John King, who did not arrive in Barren County until 1817. It does appear, however, that some from this other King line (or descendants through one of his brothers who also appear in the early tax lists), did return to Barren County in the 1820s. If you are a King descendant from Barren County and can't connect with the descendants of my John King, I expect you descend from the line that went to Bedford County. Robert Strong
