Terry was for many years pastor of this church and was its pastor when the present brick building was erected. So strong and effective was Rev. Terry's leadership while in this pastorate that his influence is still a vital force in the church. He resigned here late in 1893 and went to the Glasgow Baptist Church early in 1894.
