    3. Just a couple of notes before I head off to the opthomologist to meet with the surgeon. I'll know the secheduled dates of the surgeries at this time likely. The Jesse James program last night was VERY well attended and was quite interestering. No genealogy was covered per se, the speaker dealt primarily with the forming of the James-Younger gang and later the James gang and their trail of robberies through Missouri, KY and WV. He had pictures of some of the gang members, mentioned that many of the original gang were all former Civil War soldiers serving under Quantrill and that they had specific hideouts throughout the various areas which were often provided by their Civil War buddies. Mention was made of the robbery of the stage coach at Mammoth Cave and the accusation of the wrong man being imprisoned for 18 months until Jesse was recognized from a photo after he was killed by Ford. As a humorous side note, the speaker mentioned that everywhere he puts on a program, someone in the audience normally states that Jesse and Frank stayed with their grandparents or some kinfolk. He has decided they must have stayed with everyone! He described their method of robbing banks and trains, that they always rode the best of horses and how they came into town posing as horse or cattle dealers looking for stock; well dressed and well mannered. I don't believe that the program was videotaped unless they were set up in back and I didn't see them. It was an extremely interesting program! Now, some breakfast and off to the eye doc!
