    3. This is a newsy paper and will take two weeks. Veteran clerk, L R RUSH dies, age 72. Services Friday afternoon 5 Apr 1946 at his home, burial Oak Hill Cemetery. Was serving his 8th 6-yr term and entering his 43rd yr as Circuit Court Clerk. Died Tuesday, 1pm, St Anthony's hospital in Louisville where he had been critically ill for 10 days and in failing health for the past 2-4 years. Rev J W RAYBURN of Glasgow will lead services; pallbearers are county officials: Attorney Paul CARTER, county Atty Abe CARTER, Circuit Judge Jas C CARTER Jr, Judge Fred EVANS, Jailer Homer PROFFITT, James "Buddie" JOBE, former jailer, County Clerk Paul CROWE and Sheriff Felin FORD. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lena GENTRY RUSH, two sons and two daughters: Bob and Jack, both of T'ville, Mrs. Grace EMMERT of T'ville and Mrs Olivia PATERSON of Louisville. Sister is Mrs S M GREEN of T'ville, 16 grandchildren. Two grandsons, George Robert and Kenneth EMMERT are in the US Army; George R was home when his father died; Kenneth landed at NY from European service Wed to attend the funeral. Walter COE is opening a lunch-room in the room next door to the Shell Oil Co service station operated by W Y WOOD. This room was formerly occupied by Bliss WALDEN the barber who has moved to the rear of the People's Bank building. Mrs. Fowler KEITH, daughter of Raymond BRAY was instantly killed in an accident at the Deposit Bank corner in T'ville Thurs am about 10. She was in a coupe driven by Dewey CURTIS which collided with a truck loaded with logs and driven by Tom JONES of Scottsville. Truck was coming into town on the Gamaliel road; couupe approached the corner alongside the bank. The glass on the right side of the coupe had been replaed with cardboard which might have caused the accident. She was thrown, dragged or jumped from the coupe and the rear wheel of the truck passed over her head, crushing her skull. Recently discharged service men reported: Joseph B EUBANK, Charles A KIRKPATRICK, Leonard G EATON, Hoyt SIMS, Albert D CLARKSON, Loy SHORT, Rondell D FROEDGE, James L LYONS, Charles H FORD, Taylor C SCOTT, Wayne A COOPER, Rallph C HOLLINSWORTH, William V ISENBERG, Ronald C HAGAN, Truman BARTLEY, Richard A WEST, Wallace D MOORE, Garland D TURNER, James E COE, Reed DODSON, Glen Newman CURTIS, Robert D STARNES, Elzie E PICKERELL and James Morris PICKERELL. Sgt George M MILLER serving with 4th Special Engineer Brigade; group received a Meritorious Service Unit Award for occupational duties in Japan 5 Oct to 5 Dec 1945. His brigade deactivating 15 Apr 1946 and he will join some other outfit in Japan. Pvt Sam Dewey STRODE had been stationed at Ft Belvoir, VA spent furlough with his mother, Mrs. Clarence HOOD; to report in San Francisco 7 Apr. Lt Jack MARTIN arrived in Germany according to a cable received by his wife, Mrs Olive Conover MARTIN. He saled from NY on 8 Mar on the liner George Washington, attached to the 112th. Mrs MARTIN plans to leave for the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs J E CONOVER of Lincoln NB soon. Noah J TURNER, 93, buried at TURNER graveyard. He was born in T'ville, died 15 Mar 1946 at his home near Mud Lick. Burial on 16 Mar, Bro C E CARTER led the service.Married early in life to Nancy E TURNER who died 48 yrs ago. Five surviving children: E D, George and Jim Turner, Mrs Lucille ALLEN of IL and Mrs Lizzie WARD of Mud Lick. A second marriage was to Maggie MYERS in 1898. Six children of this marriage survive; Louise FORSYTHE, Mabel LOVE, Mary MENEACHER and Irkie TURNER of Wisonson, Fred Turner of East Chicgo IN and Wealthy WEBB of Louisville. 29 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. T V DOSSEY of Fountain Run, H T WHITE of T'ville and O J BRAY of Gamaliel to attend a 2-day school at Columbia KY 8 and 9 Apr to learn how to service cream separators and water systems. Mrs Mollie Bett EMBERTON and Miss Veretha EMBERTON had a telegrm last week announcing the death of Will A JOHNSON of Ardmore OK. He was the brother of Claude and Clay JOHNSON of Flipin and Jimmie JOHNSON of Auburn KY. His wife survives, is Miss Etta EMBERTON before marriage. Kenneth FORD was shot by Deputy Sheriff Clrence PHILLIPS downtown T'ville last Sat eve hen the officer was placing him under arrest. Is recovering satisfactorily at the Community Hospital. Ford is the 21 yr old son of Sylvanus and Cora FORD. Bullet ranged downward thru the abdomen puncturing the stomach in 2 places and the intestines in seven.
