    3. Personals: James PHILPOT had a minor operation and a month's treatment in Kansas City and is expected home shortly. Wee HAILE & family of Bowling Green are visiting relatives at Harlan's Cross Roads. Mrs Ruby GOOLSBY of T'ville had guests last weekend - Misses Ruth DOUGLAS, Lapela BAGBY & Jackie McGINNIS of Greensburg KY. L K YOKLEY and Edd RICHARDSON returned from a trip for their health to Hot Springs Arkansas. Lt Commander J Leonard MORTON and bride were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs Esco WOOD of North Main St. They were enroute from Washington DC to San Francisco. She was Miss Evelyn KEMPFER of Alexandria VA where they were married 27 March at Christ Church. He just returned from Japan where he commanded the USS Vigilance, served 6 years. He is a nephew of Mr WOOD. Mr and Mrs Levi DOUGLAS of Greensburg visited Mr and Mrs J H WALDEN and other relatives at Mt Gilead and T'ville. Mrs. Bug PHILPOT is recoering from serious illness. Otha SMITH and family, formerly of Marrowbone, have moved to the C H DICKERSON property in Newtown vacated by Charlie WITCHER. Mr and Mrs Glen RHOTON are the proud parents of a girl born March 25 and named Glenda Darene. Mr and Mrs Fred TURNER and Mr and Mrs Clarence MOFFETT and dau Patricia of Indianapolis, were weekend guests of Mrs Fanny CONDRA, mother of Mrs Turner and Mrs Moffett. Pvt Nuland MOORE, son of Mr and Mrs S J MOORE is hone on a dely-en-routh furlough on his way to the state of Washington to the East Coast. He will be stationed in Europe. Clarence C MYERS, Adjutant at Kentucky General Hospital at Memphis TN from Monroe Co. Son of Jim Riley MYERS of gamaliel, brother of Mrs. H C BURGESS. He attended T'ville graded and high school, living then with Judge and Mrs. W S SMITH. He is also related to the SMITHS and to Mrs A L EMBERTON here. Has 28 yrs service; assigned to Kennedy on Sept 1 1942. (Long bio). Cites wife and 3 sons who settled in Memphis, now living at 3615 Spottswood. The daughters are nuns, school teachers of the White Benededictine Order of the Sisterhood with Motherhouse at Jonesboro, Ark. Next week - new paper.
