Larue County does still have the big ledger book at their courthouse. The last time I was there, it was located in the room with the marriage records. It is, like the others, somewhat unreliable. My great grandfather is listed as a girl named "Eliza," and both my grandmothers' birth dates are listed under two different years. Still, it is a great place to start. The microfilm copy of the Larue Co. vital stats that the Louisville Free Public Library has, differs from this ledger, as not as many years are covered in the microfilm. Also, to add even more confusion, the microfilm copy that the Filson Club has, is different from those two. From what I have seen, the microfilm copy at the Archives in Frankfort is the same as the Courthouse ledger. Peggy Ray
