James A RICE appt Atty to the Commonwealth who swore he was honest in his said office, took oath. William NEVEL (foreman), Frances LATTEMORE, John SANDERS, Meredith RITE? [likely RITTER], John COX, James FORBIS, William MACKY, Edward YOUNG, Killion CREEK, Robert DAUGHERTY, James GALLOWAY, William RENICK, Samuel SCOTT, James FRAZER, William ALLEN, John GRAY, Frederick MOSS, William PERKINS and Hugh SMITH were sworn a grand jury; received their charge and withdrew. Commonwealth vs James SANDERS, John SNELL, 2nd one for John SNELL - fined. [all separate cases]. Same against William FISHER, dismissed. Ordered that the first Tuesday of the court be appointed for Rule Days. Martin FRANKLIN vs Samuel GUFFY, judgment for Plaintiff. Martin FRANKLIN vs Samuel GUFFY, 2nd case, overruled. Grand Jury returned and charged Joseph SCOTT for swearing one oath by God and John FISHER for retailing spiritious liquors. Also for James SANDERS for getting drunk and Robt HINEMAN for saying God d.... my soul. Jury discharged. Thomas MORRIS vs David LAWRENCE, property returned. William BAUGH vs Barkley WOOLHAM, dismissed. Ordered that Washington FLETCHER be fined $30 for contempt of court and fighting where the judges could hear him. James HIND and Margaret McCLURE (heir of law of Robt/Robe McCLURE re deed to Henry RENICK. Exanimation of Andrew MESHON for felony - this was crossed out and robbery written in. 27 Nov 1799. Prisoner led to the bar and demanded of him whether he is guilty. He pleaded innocent; witnesses sworn in (not named). Found not guilty, dismissed. Court adjourned until Feb 1800.
