    3. WILLIAMSON, James & Nancy, VA R11604. Covering jacket: 26512 James WILLIAMSON, Private, VA line, 1 yr and 11 months and 10 days, Cavalry - 20 days, Pvt Infantry. Inscribed on KY Roll at $99.42 per year to begin 4 Mar 1831. Certificate of pension issued 3 Mar 1834. Claim of widow, rejected. Allen Co 9 Dec 1833 in open court, James Williamson appeared, age 81 and deposed that in May 1778 in was drafted in Rockbridge Co VA in militia company of Capt David GRAY. Drafted again and served under Capt Adam WALLACE. Later served in the company of Dragoons undesr Capt. Dudley READE. Was born 27 May 1752 in Augusta Co VA; lived in Rockbridge Co when called into service. Since the war has lived in Rockbridge and Washington Co VA and in Montgomery, Warren and Allen Co KY. Was at the Battle of Long Bridge, Petersburg, Richmond and the Siege of York Little at the taking of Cornwallis. Allen Co 10 Feb 1834. John BARTLETT, late of said county but now of Sumner Co TN made oath that he has personal knowledge that the above service is true re service under Capt ARMONG? in Col. NELSON's Regiment; he served with Williamson. Allen Co 17 June 1839. Nancy Williamson, age 69 made oath that she is the widow of James Sr; they married in 1787 in VA; he died 8 Nov 1838. 17 June 1839. John SARVER and Mary his wife declared on oath that they were acquainted with Nancy in Botetourt Co VA both before and after their marriage. Not present at the wedding but report and rumor said it took place. 9 Aug 1852 Allen Co. Mary HINTON states she is the daughter of James and Nancy and that her mother died 15 April 1843; appointed F E HASSLER of Washington DC as her lawful attorney. 30 Jan 1856. Mary M Hinton appointed Charles C TUCKER of Washington DC as her attorney. Botetourt Co VA marriage records read: James Williamson and Nancy McCORKLE married by Rev Edward CRAWFORD 78 Oct 1788. *** WARDEN, Elisha and Fanny, VA B L WT. 34518-160-55, W 6428. Covering jacket: 26650. Elisha Warden, Pvt, VA Line 6 mos, 10 days. Inscribed on KY Roll at $21.21 per year to besgin 4 Mar 1831. Certificate of Pension issued 14 Apr 1834. Fanny Warden, widow. First received $21 per year to being 4 Mar 1843; certificate issued 19 Sept 1853. $121 per year to besgin 30 Sept 1865. Certifiate of pension issued 18 Oct 1867. 17 Sept 1832. Elisha Warden, age 71, made oath that he enlisted in Fairfax Co VA in 1777, militia under Capt. Thos. POLLARD - was a substitute for Wm SIMPSON. He has his certificate of service. In 1776 he served under Pollard for some weeks in protection of the estate of Gen. WASHINGTON at Mount Vernon from the depredations of the British. Served in 1781 under Capt James WAUGH. Was born July 1781 in Prince William Co VA; was living in Fairfax when called into service. Since the war has lived in Fauquier Co VA and KY. John GIBSON of Allen Co deposed that he lived in Fairfax Co in 1776 thru 1778; knows the activities of the troops but he was not in the company; states he was generally talked of and the matters public at that time. 23 July 1855 in Allen Co. Fanny Warden, age 73 stated that she married Elisha Mar 1798 in Fauquier Co VA; married by John PICKETT, a Baptist preacher. Her maiden name was Fanny DEARING. Elisha died 19 Dec 1835. She showed a very old and discolored leaf from a family Bible which was in the handwriting of Elisha. It recorded the birth of their first three chlidren: James Warden, eldest child, born 11 May 1790. John Warden, born 9 March 1801. William Warden born 11 May 1803. On the reverse side a practically illegible record which might be: Sarah died 31 Mar 1804 - was worn and defaced. William Warden, age 52, made oath that he is the 3rd child of the Bible record and always knew the record in the Bible to be true. Fauquier Co VA Marriage Bond: 26 Mar 1798. License issued to Elisha Warden and Fanny Dearing. No return of said license. Next week, one last Allen Co application for Jacob DRY and then to John BOMAR Sr of Hart Co and Joshua CRUMP of Hart Co.
