Sorry--but a correction is in order--I was mistaken. I surprised myself to find that I did have the date of the Skaggs Creek Deed of purchase by Benjamin Payne: 1823. So, Polly's date of 1821 may accurately reflect the time of Benjamin's arrival in KY. It would also seem to support the notion that she and Benjamin were already married before coming to KY--maybe for several years prior.
