The storm last Saturday morning die great damage to corn & apples in some parts of the county. Corn was badly broken down & apples blown off the trees. John PREIVETT, prominent citizen of Metcalfe Co died of consumption at Edmonton last Monday. Mrs Calvin COTHRIN died of consumption at her residence near Edmonton last Sunday after a long illness. Mr W G HUGHES, who has been in critical condition at his home here for past 2 weeks, of nervous prostration, is somewhat improved (reported by Glasgow Times). Weddings: Crys NORMAN & Sallie HOOD, last Sunday morning at her father's house by Thomas HOOD. Rev J R LESLIE officiated. She a beautiful & accomplished young lady, he an honest and hard working boy. Mr. R B OWENS, the well known horse jockey, married last Sunday at 1 am on the public square in T'ville to Miss Carrie SMITH, pretty daughter of Andrew SMITH of near Sulphur Lick; Judge W S SMITH officiated. J M McPHERSON & Mrs. Mary E SMITH married in town last Tuesday, Judge W S SMITH officiated. She the d/o James PADGET and the widow of Billie SMITH, a most excellant lady.
