Continuation of notes on members cited at Blue Springs Baptist Church previously posted. Sally & Patsy BRADLEY were d/o of James & Nancy as shown on the 1850 Barren Co census. Sally would have been abt 16 yrs old & Patsy 13 at time cited. They were in Dist 1, house 1044-1062 with their parents; the father being 51, born KY and a blacksmith. Nancy, the mother, was also 51 & other siblings included Isabella, 24; William, 17 (blacksmith), James, 13 & Benjamin, 9. James Bradley had married Nancy PETTY, d/o Rev Ralph, in Barren Co 1 July 1819. Daniel SHIRLEY, an early member of the church, married them. Cynthia E & Martha H HARDY are on the 1850 census, Dist 2, house 535- 547. They were the d/o William G HARDY (age 43, tanner, born VA) and Ann T (37, born TN). Cinthia would have been 17 and Martha H, 13. They had siblings of William H, 16 (b TN), Lucretia J, 14 (b TN), Polly Ann 12 (b KY), Francis L 9 (b KY) and Luann C 2/12 (b KY). William G Hardy married in Barren Co to Lucinda SHIRLEY 27 May 1872, md by Rev Cornelius DeWEESWE. Garland TWYMAN was s/o William & Emily Twyman, would have been abt 37 yrs old when cited. James B RATLIFF and wife Mary Ann, in 1850 lived in Dist 2, house 420-430 with Stephen and Patsy Ratliff. He was 24; she 25. There was a GALLOWAY family & a MIZE family at the same residence. James B RATLIFFE [sic] married Mary MIZE on 15 Oct 1846. Charlotte EDWARDS appears to be the wife of Stephen R as shown on the 1850 census, Dist 2, house 1041-1060. He was shown as 32, farmer, born KY. She was 32, born KY. They had Rebecca, 132; Henry, 12; Charles, 10, Alexander, 9; Stephen, 7; John, 5; Elizabeth, 2 and Charlotte 4/12. Stephen Edwards md in Barren Co Charlotte FAULKNER on 7 Jan 1847, sureties by Thomas M PIPER, md by Rev. Ralph PETTY. James RUSH was shown as a messenger from Glover Creek Baptist Church (Summer Shade in Metcalfe Co) in 1853. There was a James Rush in Barren Co in 1850, Dist 2, house 264-269; 45 yrs old, farmer. Wife was Elizabeth, 50. They had one son at home, Peter 23. Uncertain if this is the same James Rush. Rev Natahaniel Gorin TERRY later pastored many churches in arren Co area. He wed in Barren Co 21 Nov 1850 to Emily STARK, md by Rev. J P MURRELL. He was the son of Catherine GORIN whose father was Henry GORIN - brother of John GORIN who founded Glasgow. When accepting the 2nd term as pastor of Blue Springs, he would have been 30 yrs old; he had one child, N D Terry, age 1. to be continued next week.
