    3. If any of you see an error, please post the correction to the list. As I have mentioned in the past, the physicians were required to annually submit to the County Clerk all the births and deaths that they had attended. These were often on tiny scraps of paper which were then entered into large ledger books. At times the physicians forgot to write down an event, misspelled a name or got the date wrong, or the County Clerk wrote the information down wrong. Then when I transcribed the information from the microfilmed copy of the ledger - there were times when the entry was smeared, writing impossible to decipher etc. LIGHT: Jacob, 59 years, 26 days, blacksmith, married, born VA, s/o Eber & Elizabeth, appoplexy (so spelled, then crossed out), 14 Sept 1856 Sally, 57 years, 2 days, married, born Barren Co, d/o John J & Elizabeth LEECH (? on spelling again as there was an ink blob over part of the name), cancer, 12 Dec 1856.
