    3. Just a little note about the changes at rootsweb which I'm still trying to weed through. As I noted yesterday, every subscriber to rootsweb lists was supposed to have received a message indicating that the lists would be "migrated" from the SmartList software which has been used for years to the Mailman software. The lists are being moved over alphabetically; those rootsweb lists beginning with A and B and I think C have been moved already. Of course there are glitches along the way; it is a massive undertaking. It should not make much difference to the subscribers - the main thing you might notice is that it is no longer necessary to put the "L" in the address name. As I noted, you never had to do with on the South-Central-Kentucky list as it didn't need it - but to post to the KYBARREN you did. When this list is migrated, you will only need to send the emails to KYBARREN@rootsweb.com. The schedule for moving the lists is shown below - but, the schedule is modified if there is a problem. All the K's, which would include our KYBARREN, KYRESEARCH & KYBIOGRAPHIES - Aug 23rd. The S's which would include SOUTH-CENTRAL-KENTUCKY - Aug 29th. So, if mail is delayed to you around these dates, they are in the process of being moved to the new software and I am trying to work my way through the administsrative changes I must make (you get the easy part!). I hope everything will go smoothly but hang in there! Thanks for all of you have subbed to Research after my post of yesterday. These posts will be in outline form and the ideas and tips are from 1,000 researchers who were queried as to how they handled various aspects of research, links to other articles on the subjects by the experts, reasons behind each step of research. It is quite good and hopefully will give us all a fresh look at what we've been doing and maybe some things we never thought of. The first post will be next Thursday and will run for several weeks. If you've never looked at the past 600 tips I've made over the years, click on the URL in my signature line called SCKY links, then click on research. Again, if you are already receiving the Thursday tips from me, you do not need to subscribe again. Thanks so much and I'll see you Monday!
