He emigrated to KY around 1830 when he was 16 years old. He married Nancy W GLOVER of Barren Co and is credited with possibly having baptized more than any other pastor. Stephen R EDWARDS is found on the 1860 Metcalfe Co census, house 474-174. He was 42 yrs old, farmer, born KY as was his 42 year old wife Charlotte. They had Rebecca, 25; Henry, 22; Charles, 20; Alexander, 18; Stephen, 16; John, 14; Martha F, 10 and Catherine, 7. Stephen had married Charlotte FAULKNER in Barren Co 7 Jan 1847, sureties by Thomas M PIPER, md by Rev. Ralph PETTY. Nancy C & Frances PHILPOTT are found on the 1860 Metcalfe Co census, house 372-372. They resided in the household of David and Jane Philpott (50 and 59 respectively) where Frances was shown to be 19 and Nancy C,14. Willis HUNLEY was a resident of Barren Co on the 1860 census, house 392-392. He was 24 yrs old, laborer born VA, and living with him were Jehiel Forest, 76 (born VA), Sally Hunley, 22; Eugene T Hunley, 1; Dorinda THOMPSON, 18; Emily THOMPSON, 15 and Andy WELDEN, all born KY. Margaret and Amanda MORRIS are found on the 1860 Barren Co census, district 1, house 379-379. Elizabeth Morris was head of household, 52 yrs old,laborer, birth place unknown. She had the following children with her: Betz, 33, seamstress; Nancy, 27, seamstress; Lucinda, 25, seamstress; Amanda,23; Margaret, 20 and Higah (male), 17. Ansel & Dorothy MINOR are on the 1860 Barren Co census, district 1, house 282-282. He is shown 28 years old, born KY; Dollie is 30, born KY. They had two sons - William, 2 and Joel 7/12. They had married in Barren Co 9 Apr 1854 at W B WEBB's home in presence of R H MINOR and J IRVIN. Dorothy, nee WEBB, and Ansel were married by Rev James KING. Alexander FORD is shown on the 1860 Metcalfe Co census, house 398-398, age 39, surveyor, born KY. His wife Sarah Ann was 34. They had Catherine P, 16; William H, 15; Absolom T, 13; John C, 10, Peter B, 8; James A, 6 and Lucinda T, 5/12. Also residing with them was Mary Ann FAULKNER, 21, domestic, born KY. Sarah ford was the former Sarah M STOVALL and had married in Barren Co to Alexander on 31 Jan 1842 (by Thomas EDWARDS, sureties by William M EDWARDS.) to be continued next week.
